Abstract: An article of wearing apparel is provided having cuff-like elements of tubular configuration designed to be worn either on the lower portions of a persons's legs in combination with socks or on a person's arms in association with a sleeved garment such as a sweater to produce a decorative effect. The cuff-like elements are formed from a textile such as knitted or woven fabric exhibiting a resilient characteristic tending to cause them to constrict about the wearer's legs or arms and thereby be retained in position. Each of the cuff-like elements is of a relatively short length and is sized so that one marginal end portion will be capable of being projected a distance into either the end of a sweater sleeve or the upper cuff of a sock, either singly or in multiples disposed in series relationship, thereby creating a multiple cuff appearance.
Abstract: A paving block is provided for forming of paved surfaces comprising a plurality of the block laid in adjacent relationship. The blocks are of a planar configuration having a primary body section with coplanar top and bottom surfaces and a vertical peripheral side wall extending between the top and bottom surfaces. Four main wall elements are included in the peripheral wall with these wall elements disposed in parallel pairs, the pairs being positioned in orthogonal relationship to each other. A fifth wall element is included in the peripheral side wall and is positioned between two adjacent ones of the main wall elements in equiangular relationship to each other. In one version of the paving block, two tongue elements are provided in integrally formed relationship with the primary body section and project a distance laterally therefrom at diametrically opposed corners adjacent the respective main wall elements that are interconnected by the fifth wall element.
Abstract: A bottle and drinking tube assembly is provided for dispensing of liquids. The bottle has an open top body formed from a resilient plastic material and is adapted to be collapsed upon application of moderate hand pressure and a cap for closing the top through which the bottle is filled. An aperture is formed in the cap for receiving an elongated drinking tube that extends to the bottom of the bottle and has an end exterior of the bottle from which the liquid is discharged. A fluid seal is formed between the cap and tube. A selectively operable venting valve is also provided in the cap to alternatively permit airflow into the bottle enabling the user to sip the liquid through the tube or to prevent fluid outflow from the bottle when the bottle is collapsed to forcibly expel liquid through the tube.
Abstract: A lathe is provided for generating surfaces on work pieces and which includes a spindle for support of a work piece while it is revolved and against which a cutting tool is caused to traverse. A tool supporting turret assembly is provided to hold the cutting tool and effect its movement over a path under control of a cam assembly that includes a roller cam having a cylindrical surface. The turret assembly includes a cam follower having a V-shaped configuration which is caused to bear against the roller cam and to move with respect to the cam roller in a manner to result in forming of a surface on the work piece that is of a predetermined configuration through cooperative relative movement in the orientation of the cam follower with respect to the roller.
Abstract: A dough developer is provided having an elongated chamber and a pair of dough conditioning rotors extending axially of the chamber. An inlet and an outlet are provided at respective opposite ends of the chamber to permit dough to be pumped through the chamber. A plurality of conditioning bars are mounted on a respective shaft of each rotor and extend radially outward therefrom with these bars axially disposed as between the two rotors so that bars revolve in overlapping planes. Each of the conditioning bars is of a U-shaped configuration formed from a cylindrical rod with the conditioning bars disposed in planes extending substantially axially relative to the rotors.

Abstract: A toilet seat assembly is provided having a seat that is pivotably supported at its forward end for swinging movement between substantially horizontal and upwardly inclined positions. A power lift mechanism is incorporated in the assembly and is selectively operable by the user to pivot the seat and support the seat in a desired position for assisting the user in moving between seated and standing positions. The power lift mechanism includes an expandible bladder of the bellows disposed at the rear of the seat assembly between a base structure adapted to be secured on the top of a toilet bowl and the pivoted seat that is also mounted on the base structure.
Abstract: An article packaging system is provided which includes elongated, flat strip form carrier and bonding tapes that are releasably mechanically interconnected together at longitudinally spaced points to package articles therewith between adjacent points of interconnection of the tapes. An interference-type of mechanical interconnection is provided with either or both the carrier and bonding tapes formed from resiliently flexible strips of material with portions of one or both flexed in effecting assembly or disassembly.
Abstract: An attachment for remote control of a plurality of data stations remote from each other and from a central controller having simple and convenient arrangements to put all the burden of powering and most switching of the attachment in the central controller.A minimum number of transmission lines are used, yet it allows two-way data transmissions as well as a request-to-receive signal from any single remote data station to any of the remaining data stations, at the desire of the operator of the central controller.
