Patent number: 6815611Abstract: An improved high performance twisted pair data cable (20) than has an impedance standard deviation of less than 3.5 when the standard deviation is calculated around an average impedance of 50 to 200 ohms and preferably 90 to 110 ohms. The twisted pair is helically wrapped with a metal shield tape (16) at a tension that provides a cross-sectional void of less than 25% and preferably less than 18% of the cross-sectional area of the shielded twisted pair cable. The tape is helically wrapped with an overlap of 30-45% and at an angle of 35-45 degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cable. The cable has a rating up to 600 MHz.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2002Date of Patent: November 9, 2004Assignee: Belden Wire & Cable CompanyInventor: Galen M. Gareis

Method and apparatus for coding moving image and medium for recording program of coding moving image
Patent number: 6731810Abstract: A method and an apparatus for coding a moving image, capable of obtaining high image quality and high rate of data compression, are provided. The method compares a pixel block of current image to be coded and a pixel block of preceding image within a predetermined region of preceding frame, one after another. The method seeks a specific preceding-image pixel block minimizing matching error. If the matching error relative to the specific preceding-image pixel block exceeds an acceptable value, than the method obtains one or more of orthogonal base systems for approximating AC component vector in the current-image pixel block by inter-frame adaptive orthogonal transformation having, as nest thereof, preceding image data within a predetermined region including the specific preceding-image pixel block. The method thereby codes the moving image data.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1999Date of Patent: May 4, 2004Assignee: Hudson Soft Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Miura, Fumihiko Itagaki, Miyuki Kawashima -
Patent number: 6672232Abstract: A two-thread lock-stitch sewing machine with a thread cutter comprises a shaft which is parallel to the vertical axis of a shuttle and has a lever arm with a thread pulling knife disposed on it. The bobbin case in the shuttle has a holding finger which is directed toward a stitch hole and is held between two cams that are arranged on a rib. Formed between the cams and the workpiece bearing plate is an interspace which the lever arm passes through, together with the thread pulling knife projecting into a space between the motion travel of the sewing needle and the cams so that a thread cutting operation is enabled to be performed with very short thread tail pieces remaining on the lower side of the workpiece. The thread cutting operation excels by simple design and reliable operation.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2002Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Assignee: Durkopp Adler AktiengesellschaftInventors: Johann Enns, Andreas Riffel

Patent number: 6609899Abstract: This invention is directed to a locomotive air compressor that includes a detachable bearing housing that houses an outboard crankshaft bearing. The bearing housing includes a flange, a tapered housing and a bearing retainer. The housing also includes a central bore to allow for the passage of a crankshaft and an annular recess which supports the outboard crankshaft bearing. The addition of an outboard crankshaft support bearing allows the placement of the bearing closer to the electric motor, eliminating deflections that are inherent with extended, unsupported crankshafts. The elimination of crankshaft deflections allows the use of more efficient electric motors that have a smaller air gap between the rotor and the stator. The bearing housing is detachable to allow access to the bearings in the crankcase for easy servicing.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2000Date of Patent: August 26, 2003Assignee: Gardner Denver, Inc.Inventor: Roger A. Finnamore

Patent number: 6607089Abstract: A plastic cover for a produce container which when laid out is flat. The cover is collapsible and has a plurality of ventilators. Each ventilator has a ventilator flap and a corresponding ventilator aperture. The cover has a plurality of container binding members. Each container binding member has a container flap. Each container flap has a first small flap and a second small flap. Each container flap has a corresponding container receiving aperture. Each container binding member receives a portion of the container to assist in binding the cover to the container.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2001Date of Patent: August 19, 2003Assignee: Chantler Packaging, IncInventor: Roy G. Patent number: 6588891Abstract: A common problem in vertical inkjet printers is that an air bubble is formed within the filter and so preventing correct operation of the printhead. Accordingly, a filter for use in an inkjet printer has a housing having an inlet and an outlet, with a filter element which is tapered towards the outlet for, in use, removing unwanted substances from ink flowing through the housing. A bleed tube has an inlet on the inlet side at the tapered end of the filter element, for removing trapped air from the inlet side of the filter element.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2000Date of Patent: July 8, 2003Assignee: Domino Printing Sciences PLCInventors: Nicholas Iain McDonald Steven, Merilyn Louise Murphy, Kevin Michael Quigley

Patent number: 6578608Abstract: A pipe construction kit comprises two pipe sections in the form of twin-wall pipes. A spigot is formed on one end of a pipe section, while a socket is formed on the associated end of the other pipe section. The socket and the spigot are twin-wall pipes, having predominantly smooth-walled internal pipe sections and corrugated external pipe sections with elevations and troughs. The outside diameter of the pipe sections and the outside diameter of the socket are approximately equal.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2002Date of Patent: June 17, 2003Inventor: Ralph Peter Hegler

Patent number: 6575570Abstract: In a framework for eyeglasses the support legs (3) are in engagement with the lens-holding structure (2) through hinge pins (9) mounted rigid with the lens-holding structure (2) or, alternatively, with the legs themselves, and adapted to be coupled with articulation seatings (10). Each articulation seating (10) is defined by a first engagement portion (10a) formed in the respective leg (3) or, alternatively, in the lens-holding structure (2), and a second engagement portion (10b) formed in a covering element (11) to be rigidly engaged in a recess (12) defined in the frames (1).Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2001Date of Patent: June 10, 2003Assignee: M.M.
