    Abstract: A method of decontaminating soil and ground water containing organic contaminants and divalent metal compounds. It comprises the steps of first treating such soils and ground water with an effective amount an aqueous solution containing a peroxide and a water soluble chelating agent for a time sufficient to have the water soluble chelating agent chelate at least one of the divalent metals of the divalent metal compounds present in the soil and ground water. Next, the chelated metals are brought into contact with the peroxide to catalytically convert the peroxide to an oxidizing agent. Finally, the last step is contacting the organic contaminants in the soil and ground water with the oxidizing agent to oxidize the organic contaminants to environmentally safe, non-toxic compounds.

    Abstract: An apparatus for removing dross from the bottom front and back edges of torch cut slabs of continuous cast steel being conveyed upon a line of rollers. It has at least one blade support mounted upon a rotatable powered spindle journaled in bearings at an interior angle of about 6 degrees-15 degrees. It also has a pair of opposed parallel dross removing blades. Their front edges have a downwardly sloped flat top and a 90 degree vertical end. There is at least one vertical dross cutting blade mounted on the blade support at an angle perpendicular to the line of rollers and extending beyond the vertical end of the dross removing blades. Control means rotate the spindle sufficiently to remove any dross that has fallen thereon. Also disclosed is a method for using the apparatus.

    Abstract: A tool bag for use with scaffolding and ladders having rails and rungs. The bag is constructed of soft fabric. It has a front, back, sides and an open top. It is sized to fit between the rails of a ladder. The bag is fitted with vertically oriented open bottom, closed top sleeves attached to the sides of the bag. The sleeves are dimensioned to slide over the top rails of a ladder. The bag on its back has fastened on to it a pair of vertical hooks spaced to engage a rung of the ladder. The bag, in a preferred embodiment, has sleeves with horizontally positioned loose tool holding bands. The back and bottom of the bag may contain stiffening panels. Located between the hooks is an adjustable safety strap.
