Abstract: An apparatus and method for breaking down compressed bales of may or similar materials. The apparatus utilizes a canted bed mounted on wheels for movement as a trailer and a single blade knife spans the width of the bed between two cantilever mounted levers. The knife is activated by a pair of hydraulic cylinders to cut the bale into slices of widths controlled by an operator who advances the bales under the knife by controlling movement of a bale pusher actuated by a third hydraulic cylinder, with all three cylinders exchanging hydraulic oil under pressure with an external source, such as a farm tractor, through a control box. In operation bales are loaded into the lower end of the canted bed, advanced for cutting in the plane of the knife stroke by the hydraulic powered bale pusher, sliced transversely to the compressed layers by the hydraulic powered knife and discharged from a chute at the elevated end of the canted bed.
Abstract: A lift roller conveyor for rapid manually lifting a heavy rectilinear object, particularly a lateral file cabinet, from a floor surface onto a four-wheel dolly and for lowering such an object from a four-wheel dolly to a floor surface, is provided in a roller conveyor having an inclinded and a flat plane along which the object can be moved manually. Movement of the object along the conveyor rollers up or down the inclined plane effects a change of the elevation of the object "relative to the floor surface and the upper surface of the four-wheel dolly".
Abstract: A multilayered document assembly for travel agencies yields a customer's invoice, itinerary and document jacket as well as the agency's file copy by carbonless or carbon means of copying through the assembly. A document pocket is transversely disposed across an end of a lower sheet of the assembly to allow graphic area for printing all output information from common major airline computer program reservation and ticketing systems with no unused areas to result in waste paper to be disposed of by the agency employee. Standard size, relatively narrow paper can be utilized for the assembly sheets at considerable savings of paper expense over wider paper. Printers designed for maximum paper width of ten inches can utilize the assembly.
Abstract: Fleas and flea eggs are removed from an animal's coat by combing the fleas and flea eggs from the coat and into a vacuum cleaner-created air stream flowing through an insecticide-treated filter bag. A flea comb carried in a vacuuming device is adjustable to comb long-haired and short-haired animal pets at different angles of attack. A flea trap, containing a porous filter treated with an insecticide, is connected to the comb-carrying vacuuming device by a flexible hose and to a vacuum cleaner by an additional hose.
Abstract: A fluid separator is provided in the air venting apparatus of a fluid power system working fluid reservoir to separate and return to the reservoir working fluid droplets carried from the reservoir with air expelled through the venting apparatus.
Abstract: This invention provides a simplified device for dispensing paste materials from collapsible tube packages, such as the familiar toothpaste tube. A roller, actuated by an electric motor driven lead screw, compresses a tube within a cabinet to expell a desired quantity of the paste materials. A dispensing adapter provides for use of the invention with any common size of tube dispensing nipple and an adapter nozzle closure also serves as a motor switch actuation element.
Abstract: Commercial pleated paper filter elements are applied at full rated gas flow capacity in applications requiring removal of large quantities of particulate matter from large volumes of flowing air or other gas by combining the elements as second stage filters with a primary stage cyclonic separator and operating both under vacuum conditions. Compact construction is provided by disposing the filter elements in the center of a vortex of the cyclonic separator and by providing a storage manifold within the cyclonic separator for compressed gas for pulsed back flow cleaning of the filter elements.
Abstract: A duplex door safety recycling system, primarily for elevator doors, that includes a clutch mounted safety switch for activating an electrical control circuit to recycle and open the duplex doors when an external force is applied to a clutch-driven door in opposition to the force moving the door in the direction of closing.
Abstract: A holding device having positioning means in a horizontal base member to support and position a generally spherical test object in alignment with a hardness measuring instrument positioned by retaining means in a base member connected upright member extended radially over the test object.
