  • Patent number: 5912696
Abstract: An adaptive multidimensional media asset rating system and method for selective play of a media asset includes an N-dimensional rating vector encoded into the leader portion or meta-data portion of a media asset. This N dimensional rating vector has a magnitude value for each of the N dimensions and is assigned to each asset by the asset producer. A user programmable asset filter system, responsive to the encoded vector, is incorporated into or added on to the media asset playing device. The rating vector is then read from the asset by the filter system in or connected to the media asset playing device such as a TV, videotape recorder/player, radio receiver CD player, or other reception device prior to processing the asset for viewing. The user programs into the filter system coupled to the asset player or reception device a threshold N dimensional preference vector which has a magnitude value for each of the N dimensions.

  • Patent number: 5863097
Abstract: The present invention provides an infant carrier having a bouncer mode of operation in which the bouncer mechanism is designed such that a harmonic vibration will be established regardless of varying weights of infants placed within the carrier. In addition, the infant carrier includes a mechanism for locking a carrying handle in one of two positions including cooperating camming surfaces formed on detent members of the handle and recess portions of the sides of the infant carrier.

  • Patent number: 5848741
Abstract: A frameless infant carrier which includes a canopy provided thereon. The carrier also includes a pouch for containing the infant and a pair of shoulder straps attached to the pouch for supporting the infant on the shoulders of the wearer. The canopy is suspended from a position on the pouch behind the infant to central positions on each of the shoulder straps. The canopy may be composed of a breathable, mesh material and may be selectively attachable to and removable from the shoulder straps via buckles. A pocket is defined in the back of the pouch to contain and store the canopy when not in use.

  • Patent number: 5813580
Abstract: A frameless infant carrier which converts from a front carrier to a hip carrier. The carrier includes a pouch for containing the infant, a waistbelt for adjustably connecting the pouch about the wearer's waist, a pair of shoulder straps attached to the pouch for supporting the infant on the shoulders of the wearer, and a pair of infant support straps connected between the front panel of the pouch and the shoulder straps. The infant support straps are adjustable to provide support for the upper portion of the pouch, and to draw the infant securely against the wearer. The carrier converts between alternate carrying positions by disconnecting each of the shoulder straps from the waistbelt, connecting the free ends of the shoulder straps to the infant support straps, slipping an arm of the wearer under a shoulder strap so that the shoulder strap slips off the shoulder of the wearer, and sliding the pouch laterally around the body of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 5754993
Abstract: An article of furniture which is convertible between a crib bed configuration and a twin bed configuration. Each configuration includes a headboard, a footboard, and a mattress frame assembly. In the crib bed configuration, the headboard and footboard are identical, each including a pair of outer vertical rail members and a central member. To convert each to the twin bed configuration, the outer vertical rail members are removed and the central member is rotated ninety degrees. The rotated members form the twin headboard and footboard. The rotated members may be re-configured to provide a higher headboard than footboard in the twin configuration. The mattress frame assembly is also re-configurable between the crib bed configuration and the twin bed configuration, by pivoting extension frame members between perpendicular and parallel positions relative to a central frame member.
