  • Patent number: 4455743
Abstract: Apparatus for placing coils and phase insulation in the slots of a dynamoelectric machine stator core member includes a core member loading and unloading station, a coil and phase insulation placing station, a preliminary end turn forming station, and a coil drifting station. An unwound core member at the loading/unloading station is loaded in mounting apparatus on a transfer arm which transfers the core to the placing station where coils and phase insulation are placed in the core member slots. The core is then transferred by the transfer arm to the preliminary end turn forming station where the end turns of the coils are formed away from the bore of the core member. The core member is then transferred by the transfer arm to the drifting station where the coils are drifted into the slots. The transfer arm ultimately transfers a fully wound core back to the loading/unloading station where the wound core is unloaded from the transfer arm and then inverted.

  • Patent number: 4421180
Abstract: A pile driving device of the drop hammer variety is disclosed and includes a crane supportable housing containing a hydraulic drive motor and a cam member for executing generally circular motion within the housing in response to operation of the drive motor and a ram depending from the housing of a substantial mass and having a bearing plate selectively engageable by the cam with cam motion sequentially raising the ram and disengaging the bearing plate to allow the ram to free fall and impact a pile. Also depending from the housing is a vertical guide arrangement for limiting ram motion to generally vertical reciprocating motion limited at one end by the pile being driven and at the upper extreme by the uppermost position of the cam member. The drop hammer assembly may further include a sleeve which is removably attachable to a pile upper end and which extends upwardly therefrom to provide a sleeve portion in which the ram may reciprocate.

  • Patent number: 4408355
Abstract: A hand warmer is provided which tightly fits against the waist of the user by means of an adjustable belt, and which substantially conforms to the curvature of the body. An elastic band is disposed in the interior of the muff for holding a heat source device therein, and means are provided at each end opening of the muff for selectively varying the size thereof between fully open and fully closed.

  • Patent number: 4301744
Abstract: A slide device for supporting the folding leaf of a dropleaf table comprises a bar and an elongated retainer having a channel which receives the bar for lengthwise reciprocation. The channel has a depth slightly greater than the width of the bar, and the retainer is provided with oppositely extending coplanar flanges on opposite sides of the channel which define a substantially flat mounting surface. A first boss is provided on each flange near one end which projects above the mounting surface. A second boss of substantially the same height as the first boss is also provided on each flange and is disposed adjacent to the first boss on the side thereof toward the other flange end. Each second boss has a first mounting hole therethrough, and each flange is provided with a second mounting hole near the other end thereof.

  • Patent number: 4237633
Abstract: A photograph mailing postcard comprises a unitary rectangular card of paper material having top and bottom longitudinal edges, and opposite side edges, and front and back sides. The card has top and bottom sections respectively defined by a first line which extends between the side edges and parallel with the longitudinal edges. A cut is formed in the card along the first line from one side edge to a point spaced from the other side edge thus forming top and bottom connection portions of the sections defined by the other side edge, the longitudinal edges and a second line which extends between the longitudinal edges through the point on the first line and parallel with the other side edge, and top and bottom flap portions respectively joined to the connected portions along the second line. The bottom flap portion has a rectangular window therein covered by a sheet of transparent material adhered to the front side.

  • Patent number: 4224839
Abstract: A transaxle transmission includes a casing with axially aligned output shaft extensions extending through end walls thereof. An input shaft extends through a casing side wall and is generally perpendicular with respect to the output shaft. Selectively actuable change speed gearing is drivingly connected to the output shaft for selectively providing predetermined forward and reverse gear ratios, and a manually actuable element is coupled to the change speed gearing for shifting the same. An intermediate shaft is provided in spaced, parallel relationship with the input shaft and is drivingly connected to the change speed gearing. Second selectively actuable change speed gearing drivingly connects the input shaft to the intermediate shaft to provide high and low speed reduction ratios between the input and intermediate shafts, and another manually actuable element is coupled to the second change speed gearing for shifting the same.

  • Patent number: 4190522
Abstract: Apparatus for removing impurities entrapped in a suspension of fibrous material includes a fluidized bed chamber having opposite ends, a top wall, and a perforated bottom wall. An inlet feeds the suspension to be purified to a diffusing chamber which imparts laminar flow thereto and, in turn, feeds the suspension to the fluidized bed chamber through one end thereof for flow across the bottom wall toward the other end. A pressure chamber is positioned below the fluidized bed chamber and communicates with the bottom wall thereof, the pressure chamber having a plurality of walls thereacross dividing the same into a plurality of sections. A manifold has branches communicating with each section of the pressure chamber for introducing a fluidizing agent under pressure thereto for upward flow through the perforations in the bottom wall and through the suspension therein thereby to separate impurities from the suspension by flotation.

  • Patent number: 4123678
Abstract: A stator member for a dynamoelectric machine is assembled by stacking laminations to form a core, squaring the stack of laminations so that one end face is perpendicular to the bore and clamping the stack, placing windings formed of self-bonding magnet wire in the slots in the core, bonding the windings and releasing the clamping, the bonded windings comprising the sole means for holding the laminations in assembled relation.
