Abstract: A system and method for cooling air includes using a refrigerant cooling system and further using a refrigerant liquefaction subsystem or method that includes using a heat sink cooler (“pre-cooler”) to cool the heat sink coolant before it is used to cool the refrigerant in the condenser. One aspect of the refrigerant liquefaction subsystem may use a water mist, which may be prepared by atomizers, high pressure nozzles, piezo-electric ultrasonic nebulizers, or the like, to cool the heat sink coolant.

Abstract: A visual stimulation attachment for amusing an infant riding in a child safety seat or child in a vehicle that has a headliner includes a visually-stimulating background member and an attachment device (e.g., a micro-hook material) secured to the background member and operable to releasably couple the background member to the headliner of the vehicle. The visual stimulation attachment may have one or more tether lines with a dangling member attached to it. A method of amusing an infant with a visually stimulating attachment and of manufacturing a visually stimulating attachment are also presented.

Abstract: A method of and system for providing vascular access in a patient for hemodialysis involves attaching the distal end of an access catheter to the abdominal aorta of the patient and the proximal end of the access catheter to a portion of the patient to allow selective access to an interior portion of the access catheter. A blood-withdrawal catheter and a blood-return catheter are placed into the access catheter until their distal ends are in the patients abdominal aorta and blood may be removed and return to the aorta. When finished, the blood catheters are removed. Selective access to the proximal end of the access catheter is provided, preferably, by a cutaneous port assembly that includes a screwable cap and anti-infection cuff.

Abstract: A diaper disposal system for packaging odorous waste objects in individual sealed (substantially air-tight) packages includes a body, base, hinged lid, flexible material, and a first sealing member and second sealing member. The sealing members are operable to seal or form a substantially air-tight seal in the flexible material to prevent the odor from escaping. The sealing members move between an open position and closed/sealing position by twisting an inner lid, closing the lid, or moving an activation arm. The sealing members preferably seal the tubing by thermally fusing the tubing. A method is also provided.

Abstract: A golf club includes a first and a second hollow shaft members that are releasably connected by a hollow connector. The hollow connector has a hollow male connector that has a first portion and a second portion. The second portion is threaded on an exterior surface. The first portion of the male connector is coupled to one of the connecting ends of the shaft members. The hollow connector also has a hollow female connector that is coupled to an interior portion of the other shaft member. The threads on the exterior of the male connector are releasably mated with interior threads on the female connector to provide an assembled golf club that may be disassembled for travel, but has characteristics that do not substantially vary from a similar conventional club. A method of manufacturing a separable-shaft golf clubs is also presented.

Abstract: A drape is shown for use by an anesthesia provided during a surgical procedure to temporarily hold accessories such as a suction instrument. The drape is adapted to be received on a patient support structure such as a hospital operating room table. The drape includes a main sheet of flexible, drapable material including a head region received beneath a patient's head having a pocket fold which defines an accessory receiving pocket. An envelope region is formed beneath the head region by folding a portion of the main sheet back upon itself. The envelope region defines a second accessory receiving pocket for the drape and further anchors the drape to the table during use. Subdivisions of the pocket folds provide smaller receptacles. Also provided are devices to adhere instruments in place and to secure the drape to its support. Additionally, methods of manufacture and use are included.
