Abstract: An aramid ballistic protection construction is disclosed with a combination of woven para-aramid fiber sheets and compressed pulp sheets. The construction exhibits improved wearer comfort and increased flexibility, with a level of ballistics protection nearly equal to that provided by an equivalent areal density of woven sheets, alone.
Abstract: Record material comprising paper sheet material coated with liquid-containing microcapsules wherein the liquid contents comprise ethyldiphenylmethane. Said liquid is associated on the record material with at least two color-producing reactants, at least one of which is soluble in said liquid. The encapsulated liquid is associated with the reactants by either being in close proximity to both reactants or by having one of the reactants dissolved therein and being in close proximity to the other. Of the color-producing reactants, one is a chromogenic dye-precursor and one is a coreactant material capable of developing the color of the chromogenic dye-precursor when the two reactants are brought into reaction contact by rupture of the capsule walls that contain said liquid.
Abstract: A process is disclosed for dissolving an organic color-reactive colorless dye in a high concentration in an oil and simultaneously stabilizing the solution therefrom, characterized by acting an organic peroxide on said dye.
Abstract: Thermal sensitive indigo compounds are disclosed.A thermal sensitive sheet material is disclosed utilizing dehydroindigo di(alkyl acylates) as a color producing component. The material can be a copy medium and it can be transparent or non-transparent.The indigo compounds are substantially colorless dehydroindigo di(alkyl acylates) colorable by thermal exposure.
Abstract: A polyester film having an inorganic coating and an overcoating which contains1. a vinylidene chloride copolymer, and2. a minor amount of a linear polyester resin prepared by condensing a glycol and a polyfunctional acid, at least 70% of the polyfunctional acid being an aromatic acid. The overcoating adheres to the inorganic coating as well the side of the polyester film not having the inorganic coating.
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive sheet recording system is disclosed in which the components of the system are arranged and related so that the system is particularly resistant to smudge and accidental marking due to incidental contacting forces.
Abstract: A colorless marking liquid comprising a vehicle in which is dissolved at least two colorless reactants each exhibiting its own distinctive color on reaction with an acidic record material sensitizing substance, the liquid yielding an apparent blue hue on record material sensitized with an acidic material. The resulting blue print provides excellent reproduction capabilities when copied by xerographic processes.

Abstract: Dilithium heptamolybdotetragadolinate, Li.sub.2 Gd.sub.4 (MoO.sub.4).sub.7, is disclosed, along with three methods to prepare it. Two of the three methods are useful for growing single crystals of the material. The material exhibits electro-optic, paramagnetic and ferroelectric properties.
Abstract: A pressure-rupturable, liquid-droplet-containing microcapsule having walls of hydrophilic polymeric film-material such as gelatin wherein the liquid core-material is a water-immiscible oil having water dissolved therein together with additional material which is water-soluble such as a water-soluble colorless chromogenic dye-precursor material or color-developing reactant material.
