  • Patent number: 8337757
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling the operating temperature of a catalytic reactor using a closed-loop system that provides for varying the reactor input and other operating parameters in order to maintain the operating temperature of the reactor at or near the initial setpoint temperature for operation of the reactor. In one example, maximum and minimum operating temperatures with a catalytic partial oxidation reactor are controlled, as well as maintaining control over the corresponding minimum required ratio of oxygen atoms to carbon atoms, such that the operating temperature within the reactor is maintained below the material limits but above threshold temperatures for coking.

  • Patent number: 8125096
Abstract: A hydroelectric turbine generator and control system is provided that optimizes the maximum possible power output at all times by strictly monitoring power output from the generator unit and modulating the wicket gate angle and the runner blade pitch independently of one another. The hydroelectric turbine generator includes a means for separately controlling wicket gate angle and runner blade pitch. The wicket gate angle control mechanism controls the flow into the system, pre conditions flow for maximum power and maintains reservoir level. The runner blade pitch control mechanism continuously monitors the system power output based on actual power produced, and adjusts system parameters in order to achieve maximum power output.

  • Patent number: 8065779
Abstract: A sliding door automatic closing device is provided whereby a cylindrical tube is attached to the sliding door and a pulley housing is rotateably mounted to the top of the cylindrical tube. A cable is attached at one end to a cable housing, the housing mounted onto the frame header, and the cable is attached at a second end to a weight within the cylindrical tube. The bearing-mounted pulley housing allows the sliding door panel to breakout when needed and then be returned to its original position for continual use of the automatic closing feature without any mechanical adjustments. The bearing-mounted pulley housing, cable, and cable housing all remain in their original planar positions relative to the sliding door panel header; that is, these components do not breakout along with the sliding door panel.
