  • Patent number: 6234850
Abstract: A terminal apparatus for connecting an electrical conductor to electric equipment. A terminal is electrically coupled to the electric equipment and has a hole formed therethrough. A first securing member has a head and a shaft passing through the hole formed in the terminal. A first conductor receiving area is defined between the head and a first side of the terminal. A second securing member selectively engages the shaft on a side of the terminal opposite the head of the first securing member. A second conductor receiving area is defined between the second securing member and a second side of the terminal. A holder is coupled to the terminal and disposed on a side of the terminal corresponding to the second securing member. The holder retains the second securing member at a position in which the second securing member can be engaged with an end of the shaft when the shaft is inserted through the hole formed in the terminal.

  • Patent number: 6167708
Abstract: A process for in-line partial or complete freezing of products inside an enclosure comprising the steps of: introducing the products into the enclosure on a conveyor comprising an upper run and a lower run, the upper run including an upper face and a lower face; impregnating the conveyor with a cryogenic liquid by spraying the cryogenic liquid on the lower face of the upper run of the conveyor; bringing the product into contact with the conveyor and partially or completely freezing the product by heat transfer between the product and the cryogenic liquid retained in the structure of the conveyor; monitoring the impregnation of the conveyor; regulating the spraying of cryogenic liquid depending on the result of the monitoring. An apparatus for carrying out the process is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6162477
Abstract: A process for decolorizing, sanitizing and deodorizing a food product with ozone. The food product and water are mixed to form an initial solution and supplied to a pumping device to pressurize the solution. An ozone containing gas is injected into the initial solution in order to allow the treatment of the food product, without the occurrence of liquid/gas demixing. The apparatus includes a pumping device for pressurizing the solution, a contactor into which the pressurized solution is fed, a source of ozone, and at least one injector for injecting ozone into the solution.

  • Patent number: 4884790
Abstract: A nonlinear torsional spring includes an inner torsion member and an outer torsion member. The inner torsion member includes a central axis and has first and second axial ends and the outer torsion member is fixedly secured to the inner member adjacent the first end thereof and extends along the inner member toward the second end. At least one projection and groove are provided in the arrangement for causing the inner member and the outer member to contact one another along the length of the inner member at a position progressively nearer the second end thereof as torque is applied to one of the inner and outer members. The spring may be used as a stabilizer bar in a vehicle and the like or employed in a machine as a nonlinear torsional spring element.
