  • Patent number: 5566412
Abstract: An inclinable bed frame assembly is provided which permits one to adjust the angular disposition of the mattress between a first horizontal position and an inclined position. The bed frame accommodates conventional, full size mattresses and/or head boards as may be desired. Generally, the improved bed frame is comprised of two frames, one lower or base frame and the other upper or mattress frame. Both frames are configurable to most standard size mattresses. The upper or mattress frame is pivotally connected to the base frame only at its foot end thus allowing the head end of the mattress frame to be raised or lowered as desired via torque arms or screw jack assembly.

  • Patent number: 5555823
Abstract: A method and apparatus for receiving, processing, and delivering waste materials to the interior of a rotary cement kiln to be burned therein. Apparatus includes a feeding mechanism which provides continuous in-feed of entrained solids or solid waste, materials including hazardous waste material having low fuel value, directly into the calcining zone of the kiln. A bulk receiving system is provided for receiving, processing and transferring materials from one or more collection stations. The system further includes processing for sizing and segregating metal extracted from a contaminated hazardous waste stream. Methods are provided for providing induction of forced, combustion air directly into the calcining zone of a rotating cement kiln.

  • Patent number: 5518476
Abstract: A method and apparatus for exercising the subtalar complex with controlled triplaner motion. The principal embodiment includes a standing platform and handrail in association with a rotatable foot plate. The foot plate is controllable and adjustable in three planes with fixed settings in all planes, including the oblique. The exerciser provides a method for isolating specific muscle groups involved with foot, ankle and calf extensions or where combinations of muscles are used, such as, with dorsiflexion-eversion or plantarflexion-inversion, while preventing tibial rotation of the foot. A second embodiment provides a more portable exercise apparatus utilizing the concepts employed with the principal embodiment wherein a rocker member is provided, attached to a support member. A foot plate attaches to the support member opposite the rocker and is pivotal in the transverse and frontal planes.

  • Patent number: 5509499
Abstract: A portable, hunter's ladder, useful in climbing trees comprising a pair of tubular rails radiused at each end forming a generally "C-shaped" configuration with their ends turned at oblique angles towards each other. A plurality of rungs, spaced along the rail's length, hold the rails in a substantially parallel relationship and are spaced at regular intervals except for the uppermost rung which is placed adjacent the upper, rail radius leaving an unequal spacing between the upper two rungs. Thus providing the climber with a better footing advantage when traversing around a tree to avoid limbs or when transferring to another ladder or tree stand.

  • Patent number: 5475970
Abstract: An Aquatic vegetation cutter adaptable to the bow of small work boats having rotatable, cultivator type disks on converging angles disposed along each side of the bow, extending partially below the water line, positioned in a manner whereby forward movement of the boat tends to rotate the disks thereby cutting and parting the vegetation allowing the boat to pass unobstructed, without drawing the cut vegetation into the propulsion unit intake. A second embodiment provides a method of power driving the disks in a forward or reverse direction.

  • Patent number: 5407252
Abstract: A mine scaling tool having a base plate to which a collar is concentrically attached on one side and appropriately supported with gusseted rib plates. A relatively long, heavy walled tube is telescopically fitted within a reenforcing collar. The tube is cut at an oblique angle of approximately 15 degrees off vertical in the frontal plane at the end opposite the collar. A face plate is centrally positioned over the open end of the tube and adequately reenforced with gusseted rib plates and reenforcing bars. Picks are attached parallel to the face plate along all sides extending outwardly from the edges, thereby serving as tines.

  • Patent number: 5285065
Abstract: A natural gamma tag marking materials for sub or permanent markers used in gamma logging operations, such natural gamma materials having a gamma count of between 200 and 1000 counts per second. The instant invention further discloses a typical Sub, for insertion in a drilling operation, utilizing natural gamma element compounds which are considered to be non-hazardous and effective as tag markers when used in wireline logging operations.
