  • Patent number: 5608730
Abstract: There is disclosed a communication system using a bi-directional bus, which includes a plurality of devices (e.g., TV image receiver or video tape recorder, etc.) connected to each other. Each device includes a transmit signal formation unit having a frame structure including an address field for specifying addresses of devices between which communication is carried out, a control field for specifying whether communication is carried out in the state where device on the receiving side is locked or in the state where that device is unlocked, and a data field for specifying data to be transmitted. For transmitting data having a data quantity greater than data capacity of the data field, the data is divided into a plurality of frames, an indication to lock device on the receiving side is given to control field of a frame transmitted first, and an indication to unlock that device is given to control field of a frame transmitted last.

  • Patent number: 5535065
Abstract: An apparatus for recording and reproducing a signal on and from a record medium includes a reproducing system signal processing circuit (21) for reproducing a recorded information, an output circuit (25) for outputting a reproducing digital audio signal thus reproduced in the form of a predetermined format, an input circuit (29) for converting a signal input from the outside into a signal of a predetermined format and a recording system signal processing circuit (35) for recording at least an information. This apparatus includes switches (20), (23), (27) and (32) for selectively switching the recording and reproducing lines or input and output lines. Since the recording and reproducing lines or input and output lines are selectively switched, all portions that should be diagnosed can be diagnosed. Also, a circuit size can be reduced and a space factor can be improved. Hence, manufacturing cost can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5414569
Abstract: An 8-mm video tape recorder receives a main audio signal which is transmitted as a monaural or stereophonic audio signal, and an auxiliary audio signal (SAP) which is selectively transmitted with the main audio signal, and records the main audio signal as first and second audio signals. A SAP demodulator determines whether the auxiliary audio signal is transmitted or not. When the auxiliary audio signal is transmitted as determined by the SAP demodulator and recording of the auxiliary audio signal is indicated through a terminal by the user, selector switches are shifted to supply the auxiliary audio signal to a frequency demodulator which records the auxiliary audio signal as the first audio signal on an 8-mm magnetic video tape. The 8-mm video tape recorder can record video signals accompanied by audio signals at all times.

  • Patent number: 5410323
Abstract: A planar antennas has a square radiating conductor with a total of eight slits defined therein. Each of the slits extends from one side of the radiating conductor parallel to opposing sides flanking the one side. The slits are positioned such that they slits remain in the same pattern when the radiating conductor is turned 90.degree.. Any changes in the impedance as the offset length of a feeding point from the center of the planar antenna are relatively small, specifically range from 0 ohm to 400 ohm. The planar antenna is small in size, is easy to achieve impedance matching with a general feeding system having an impedance of 50 ohms, for example, and has wider frequency band. The planar antenna is also capable of generating circularly polarized electromagnetic waves.

  • Patent number: 5384569
Abstract: In an analog signal comparator circuit, first and second inversion output currents to the first and second reference values of input analog signals, a plurality of the first and second dividually inversion outputs divided the first and second non-inversion output currents, and the first and second dividually non inversion output currents are combined respectively and added, and the comparison output corresponding to the virtual reference value for dividing the first reference value, and the first reference value and the second reference value equally are outputted. Thus, the number of comparators can be decreased comparing with the necessary numbers of reference values, and by decreasing the number of elements the input capacities can be decreased and differential linearity errors can be reduced.
