Abstract: A method for compensating a clock's operating error, the method comprising the steps of: producing a clock frequency (f2) from a frequency (f1) of a high-frequency oscillator by dividing it with a constant (K) and; at predetermined times synchronizing the clock to an external reference frequency, characterized in that during the course of clock synchronization, there is measured a clock operating deviation, which is created during a period defined to be a synchronizing interval, by comparing the phase of the clock to that of the reference frequency and, during the synchronizing interval, i.e., the interval between synchronization steps, the oscillator frequency (f1) is adjusted by means of a controlled variable, such as voltage, based on the measurement of an oscillator operating error, in a manner that the effect of the oscillator operating error on the clock frequency is minimized.

Abstract: A process and apparatus are provided for transferring material cut in transverse strips and located on an exit zone of an apparatus for the cutting of stacked sheet-like material, to an entry zone of the apparatus for the purpose of cutting such material into longitudinal strips. The apparatus has a cutting table with a table surface possessing a work zone, above which a cutting knife and a press bar are located. An advance device located in the entry zone is provided for the material to be cut. The material present in transverse strips is brought from the exit in zone onto a thin-walled, plate-shaped transport base. The transport base, together with the material, is fed, via at least one table which is arranged laterally of the apparatus and the table surface of which can be arranged level with that of the cutting table of the apparatus, to the entry zone of the apparatus and there, aligned with the entry zone, is removed from the transport base.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for cutting stacked, sheet-like material, having a table surface which has a working zone, above which a cutting blade and a press beam are located, an entry zone behind the working zone for receiving the material to be cut and an exit zone in front of the working zone for receiving the cut material, a feed device for the material to be cut, which feed device has teeth which engage grooves of the press beam when the feed device is in its foremost position, and also a side stop for aligning the material to be cut by means of a pressing slide movable in the area of the working zone in the direction of the line of cut, where the feed device extends essentially over the entire width of the table surface, and the pressing slide is effective solely in the area of the working zone formed between the cutting plane and the foremost position of the feed device, thus allowing alignment of the material to be cut in direct proximity to the cutting plane.

Abstract: An apparatus for cutting stacked sheet-like material has a table surface which includes an entry zone for receiving the material to be cut, a working zone above which a cutting blade and press beam are located, as well as an exit zone for receiving the material after it is cut. The exit zone comprises a first zonal area adjacent to the working zone and a second zonal area adjacent to the first zonal area, and a first straightedge arranged below the exit zone in the area of a parting surface of the two zonal areas. The second zonal area can be lifted from an initial position where it forms a plane with the first zonal area and the first straightedge can be lifted and moved into a working position with the first zonal area. The exit zone can be moved as a whole perpendicular to the cutting plane to form a gap between the exit zone and the working zone.
Abstract: A quick opening manhole cover assembly is provided which is suitable for use with virtually any shape manhole cover of a pressure vessel. The assembly broadly includes a manhole cover having outer dimensions which are less than the inner dimensions of the manhole so that the cover can pass freely therethrough. The assembly also includes a structure for raising and lowering the cover into and out of the manhole. A sliding lock mechanism is located above the cover and is engageable to prevent axial movement of the cover. A safety mechanism is provided to prevent the lock from disengaging when the vessel is under pressure. Once the lock is engaged, the cover is raised and a seal carried atop the cover provides a fluid tight sealing engagement of the cover. The pressure within the vessel urges the cover further upward to further ensure the integrity of the seal.
Abstract: The present invention is a drive unit for an adjustable bed, comprising motor means and a clutch assembly comprising a toothed gear jack drive coupling, a toothed gear drive coupling and means for engaging and disengaging the jack drive coupling and the drive coupling, wherein the drive coupling is driven by the motor means and wherein the jack drive coupling, when engaged with the drive coupling by the clutch assembly, drives a controller shaft of the adjustable bed to raise or lower a section of the bed.

Abstract: The invention proposes a control device having a monitored operating element (1, 10). The operating element is used for introducing and forwarding an input command (14) to control systems, particularly of machines, plant or the like. In this arrangement, an oscillating movement (13) is imparted to the operating element by a drive (3, 4), which is constructed, for example, as a magnetic system, which movement is detected by the control system, particularly by means of a sensor (5, 6) which can also be constructed as an electromagnetic system. If an input command (14) is introduced into the operating element, it experiences a restriction in mobility by coming to rest against a fixed stop (8), so that no or only a smaller signal is introduced into the sensor and thus the control system. The same effect occurs if the mobility is reduced unintentionally by internal or external influences such as corrosion in the bearing points, fracture of the operating element and so forth.
