Abstract: A miniaturized modem system including a modem chip on a board and a DAA chip on another board mounted together so that the boards face one another thereby substantially reducing the size of the system. The arrangement satisfies the requirement of the FCC for maintaining a minimum limit on spacing between the modem section and the DAA section thereby avoiding inadvertently applying voltage surges to the phone line. The modem system is mounted directly on a housing that is a receptacle for a telephone jack thereby further substantially reducing the size of the modem system.
Abstract: A dispenser for condiments mountable on a container for a beverage wherein the container is any of a bottle and cups of several standard sizes. The dispenser comprises a circular base with a small inner cone having its largest rim integrally joined to the edge of a circular opening in the base. An outer cone formed as a series of steps is mounted on the base with the edge of the outer cone integrally joined to the edge of the base. The rim of a container for beverage supports any one of the steps depending on the size of the container. Alternatively, the dispenser is supported by a bottle container having a neck extending into the inner cone.
Abstract: A rope cleat including at least rope abutment and at least one cam mounted on a flat base surface. The cam is spring biased to rotate toward an abutment surface. A cover is positionable over the cam and abutment such that, in one position, the rope is restrained from inadvertent withdrawal from between the cam and abutment and in another position permits quick engagement and withdrawal of the rope from between the cam and abutment. One version of the invention is a sliding cover. Another version of the invention is a cover that is rotatable between the retain and withdrawal positions. Yet another version is a flip up cover. In one embodiment, a single cam-abutment-cover assembly is mounted on the base surface. In another embodiment, a cam-abutment-cover pair is mounted on the base surface. In another embodiment, a cam-cam-cover is mounted on a base surface where the cams rotate toward each other to secure the rope.
Abstract: An all purpose utility vehicle supporting rescue efforts especially directed toward servicing disable airplanes being an entry tube having a cab section and a tail end section. Mechanisms are provided for inclining the tube so that the cab section is elevated to the level of an airliner permitting personnel to enter the lower end of the tube and walk up to the cab section and into the stricken airplane. A gangplank design for joining the cab section to the tail section provides that the floor of the cabin section is always horizontal regardless of inclination of the tail section.
Abstract: A swing guide exerciser for training a golfer which comprises: a panel, substantially rectangular, an elongated bar, a coupler secured to the surface of the panel, adjacent a corner, for mounting an end of the bar on the surface wherein the bar forms an acute angle with the short dimension and is perpendicular to said long dimension.
