Abstract: A printed circuit board connector having two parallel rows of posts for receipt in sockets of a printed circuit board includes an elongate post locating member formed on opposite faces with parallel post receiving channels mounted for sliding movement along the posts away from the free ends of the posts during insertion of the posts into the sockets of the printed circuit board. Inadvertent dislodgement of the locating member from the free ends of the posts is prevented by a stop member extending from the locating member engaging an abutment on the connector.

Abstract: Apparatus for inserting wires into terminals on opposite sides of an elecrical connector in a single stroke comprising first and second wire insertion heads mounted on respective opposite sides of a connector holder which includes a slide mounted on an anvil and linked to an insertion ram carrying the first wire insertion head so that wire insertion movement of the insertion ram relative to the holder produces corresponding movement of the slide.

Abstract: Connector assembly comprises plug housing and receptacle housing. The plug housing has a latch arm hinged to one of its sidewalls having a forward portion which extends towards the mating end. A plurality of removable keys are mounted on the plug housing adjacent to the forward portion of the latch arm. The latch arm has an inspection opening to determine the presence or absence of the keys. Keying is achieved by removing one of the keys and placing a key plug in the corresponding keyway in the receptacle. The latch arm has a rearward portion which extends towards the rearward face of the housing. Clearance slots are provided in the rearward portion for wires which extend through the clearance openings, through wire-admitting slots in the housing sidewall and to terminals in the housing. The clearance slots permit the rearward portion of the latch arm to be depressed thereby to raise the forward portion when the plug housing is latched to, or unlatched from, the receptacle housing.
