  • Patent number: 6244917
Abstract: A fuel delivery system for a boat having an internal combustion engine is provided. The system provides a source of fuel. A fuel supply conduit is connected to the source of fuel to deliver fuel to the engine. A fuel impermeable housing has one end coupled to the source of fuel and defines a passageway that receives the fuel supply conduit interiorly of the boat. The passageway is hermetically sealed relative to the interior of the boat and provides a return path into the fuel source to any fuel that may spill in the passageway.

  • Patent number: 6233943
Abstract: Computerized system and method for controlling a plurality of internal combustion engines are provided. The system includes a respective speed sensor coupled to a corresponding engine to supply a respective speed sensor signal indicative of each engine's speed. The system further includes an electronic control unit coupled to receive each respective speed sensor signal. The control unit in turn includes a comparator module configured to compare each speed sensor signal relative to one another and supply a comparator output signal based on the magnitude of any differences between the engine speed signals. A processor module is responsive to the comparator output signal to adjust one or more engine operational parameters of one or more of the plurality of engines.

  • Patent number: 6220905
Abstract: A tilt-trim subsystem and method for a boat propulsion system is provided. A stern bracket is mounted on a transom of the boat. A swivel bracket is pivotally supported relative to the stern bracket for rotation about a generally horizontal axis. The subsystem includes a tilt and trim assembly having at least one cam pivotally supported by the stern bracket. The cam is configured to impart a relatively slow rate of rotation to the swivel bracket, at least when there is driving contact between the cam and the swivel bracket within a predetermined angular range for trimming, as compared to a rate of rotation within a predetermined angular range for tilting.

  • Patent number: 5305472
Abstract: A toilet ventilation unit including a vacuum motor mounted in the wall voids surrounding the toilet that is connected to the back of the tank and utilizes the water passageway of a conventional toilet to draw odors and aromas from the toilet. A vacuum shut off valve is mounted adjacent the back of the tank and is actuated concomitantly with the rising and lowering of the water level to cut off the air flow from the toilet. An additional valve is also mounted adjacent the tank to act in opposition to the shut-off valve and provide relief from the vacuum created from the drop of the water level during flushing. A release valve is adjacent the vacuum motor to draw air from an air source alternative to the toilet, when the shut-off valve is activated.

  • Patent number: 5257887
Abstract: A collection container adapted to be lifted and emptied with a grasping device. The container forms an enclosure with two sections each having a projection and being pivotally connected to each other. The sections are held together with a spring. The container includes an opening to receive objects. The spring tension is set so that the grasping device can lift the container by the projections without the section separating. The projections are angled on the enclosure so that if the grasping device were to squeeze the projections together the two sections would pivotally open and dump the objects in a bin. A trough is coupled to a slot on the container to prevent the container's contents from being pilfered.

  • Patent number: 5231796
Abstract: An integrated pesticide applicating system utilizes lengths of small diameter closed end flexible tubing with periodically spaced perforations having open ends terminating at junction boxes which are serviced on a periodic basis by certified pest control technicians utilizing expanding chemicals that are administered in measured quantities to provide a residual pest control block in concealed areas of a building. Externally mounted junction boxes provide a pest control method in which the chemicals can be applied without the necessity of access to the interior of the building by the servicing technician. Tubing perforations are preferably conically shaped.

  • Patent number: 5120160
Abstract: A process for bio-remediation of soil contaminated with organic compounds and containment of the contamination, utilizes a group of veil wells disposed along the limits of the contamination and downgradient of groundwater flow. Contamination consuming bacteria and water are injected into the soil to form a curtain of bacteria for presenting spread of contamination. Areas of heavy concentration of contaminants are excavated, bio-remediation of areas of lower concentrations of contaminants by injection of bacteria and water under pressure. Dead man wells are provided for recovery of contaminated ground water and the organic compounds.
