Abstract: An apparatus and system are provided for controlling the operating frequency of an electromagnetic vibratory feeder at a submultiple of the power line frequency. The apparatus is couplable to a terminal of an electromagnetic coil of the electromagnetic vibratory feeder, to control the current through the electromagnetic coil and thereby control power delivered to the electromagnetic vibratory feeder. The apparatus includes a quadrac coupled to the alternating current source; a capacitor coupled to the AC current power source and coupled through a first diode to a gate electrode of the quadrac; and a resistive network coupled through a second diode to the capacitor and to the first diode. The capacitance value of the capacitor and the resistive value of the resistive network form an RC time constant, which is predetermined to provide a selected operating frequency for triggering the quadrac and thereby providing power to the electromagnetic vibratory feeder at a submultiple of the power line frequency.

Abstract: A folding apparatus of a bag-making machine includes a plurality of folding mechanisms each having a pair of nip rollers which receive a sheet or bag from an associated carrier structure, to thereby sequentially form transverse folds in each sheet or bag. In order to abate lamination-like adhesion of relatively thin, light gauge film materials to the belts and other surfaces of the folding apparatus, the belts and/or guide rollers of the apparatus are preferably provided with grooved sheet-contacting surfaces. The apparatus is additionally configured to abate wrinkling or buckling of a leading edge portion of each sheet or bag which can occur attendant to its reversal in direction of movement as it is directed between the nip rollers of each folding mechanism. High-speed operation is facilitated while avoiding improperly folded bags, or equipment jamming.

Abstract: Two similar urinals are nested in a package so that both urinals occupy a volume less than twice the volume occupied by one of the urinals. Each urinal has a body having a lower wall, an upper mouth, a front wall having an upper portion and a lower portion, and a back wall defining a tangent plane. The upper mouth has a margin defining a plane meeting the tangent plane defined by the back wall at an acute angle. Each urinal fits between an upper plane and a lower plane, each meeting the plane tangent defined by the back wall of said urinal at a right angle. Each urinal has a handle unitary with the body of said urinal and projecting from the body of said urinal, near the upper mouth of the body of said urinal, toward the lower portion of the front wall of the body of said urinal, so as to define a gap between the handle and the upper portion of the front wall of said urinal.
Abstract: A lighting device comprising one or more light sources placed in respect to a concentrating concave or echelon main reflector, with the light emitted by the light source(s) being reflected by the main reflector so as to create a projected pattern of light to be directed onto a subject to be illuminated, a focusable light being achieved by shifting means capable of displacing or tilting the light source(s) with regard to the optical axis of the reflector. Said shifting means are apt to displace said at least one light source in a direction or at an angle to and from said optical axis of said reflector, in a plane substantially perpendicular to said axis, or to tilt the at least one light source(s). The light source(s) is(are) placed around said optical axis of the reflector and are movable or inclinable in a direction away from the optical axis of said reflector.

Abstract: A manager system provides a set of integrated tools designed to assist in all stages of the military engagement training cycle: exercise creation, monitoring, and review. All information created or gathered at each stage is automatically made available to the next training stage. It can be distributed on the World-Wide Web, or can be viewed using a Web browser. The manager system uses the protocols established by the Distributed Interactive Simulation Standard (DIS) to both send and receive information from other DIS applications in order to perform each training stage. This allows the manager system to simultaneously monitor multiple dissimilar DIS training simulators during a joint exercise.
