Abstract: A multiple bypass turbofan engine includes a core Brayton Cycle gas generator with a fuel rich burning combustor and is provided with a variable supercharged bypass duct around the gas generator with a supercharging means in the supercharged bypass duct powered by a turbine not mechanically connected to the gas generator. The engine further includes a low pressure turbine driven forward fan upstream and forward of an aft fan and drivingly connected to a low pressure turbine by a low pressure shaft, the low pressure turbine being aft of and in serial flow communication with the core gas generator. A fan bypass duct is disposed radially outward of the core engine assembly and has first and second inlets disposed between the forward and aft fans. An inlet duct having an annular duct wall is disposed radially inward of the bypass duct and connects the second inlet to the bypass duct. A supercharger means for compressing air is drivingly connected to the low pressure turbine and is disposed in the inlet duct.
Abstract: A hand sanitizing apparatus which uses at least two electrostatic emitters to dispense germicidal fluid to substantially all the surfaces of a user's hands when both hands are placed in proximity to the electrostatic emitters. The apparatus comprises a frame on which are mounted electrostatic emitters in preferably two cells which separate spray directed at one hand from spray directed at the other hand, a reservoir of germicidal fluid in fluid communication with the electrostatic emitters, a power source adapted to supply electrostatic energy to the electrostatic emitters, and a dispensing cycle actuator which is operated by the user to distribute electrostatic energy from the power source to the electrostatic emitters so that a predetermined quantity of germicidal fluid is directed from each electrostatic emitter toward each of the user's hands during the dispensing cycle. In one embodiment each hand is sprayed with an opposite charge.
Abstract: A container supporting French fries to be heated in a toaster. The toaster has an article receiving slot. The container comprises an upright structure having a closed bottom and a front and a back parallel to the front which are held together along adjacent side edges by mechanical means. The upright structure has an openable top for access to heated French fries. The front and back have apertures located above the closed bottom. The apertures provide an open area in the front and the back to pass toaster radiation heat into the container to heat the food article and for steam from heated French fries to exit the container. The upright structure has a portion extending sufficiently above the toaster which is cool-to-the-touch and electrically non-conductive to enable a user to lift the container from the toaster without a finger burn or electrical shock. The closed bottom of the container forms a drip trough.

Abstract: A unidirectional twist-up dispensing device with incremental dosing for dispensing a product is provided. This twist-up dispensing device includes a hollow housing defining a chamber having an open dispensing end and an open actuating end having a interior surface. A piston located within the chamber being limited to translational movement within the chamber. The piston having a top side facing the dispensing end of the housing forming a variable volume portion of the chamber for storing the product. The piston also having a threaded rod extending therefrom opposite the top side. An actuator having a threaded aperture therethrough that engages the interior surface at the actuating end of the housing is also provided. The threaded aperture is concentric in the actuator and the actuator is adapted to rotate with respect to the housing in only one direction.

Abstract: A metal or ceramic matrix composite part and corresponding method are provided exhibiting desired heat transfer characteristics. The part has a metal or ceramic matrix composite substrate and a multilayer dielectric coating. The coating has high reflectivity at wave lengths corresponding to radiation wavelengths of various combustion gases and has low reflectance at radiation wavelengths corresponding to the substrate. The multilayer coating allows the heat generated external of the part at wavelengths corresponding to combustion gases to be reflected from the part while permitting radiation wavelengths associated with the substrate to pass through the coating. The parts are useful for use in combustive gas atmospheres.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a package for dispensing a liquid product having a blow molded container body including an aperture and a pivotal connection. A pump device is attached to the aperture, and a unitarily formed actuation lever is pivotally connected directly to the pivotal connection of the container body allowing arcuate movement of the actuation lever. The pump device has a first contact surface located on a portion thereof and the actuation lever has a second contact surface which cooperates with the first contact surface enabling the actuation lever to apply a substantially vertical operating force upon the pump device when rotated, thereby dispensing the liquid product. In a preferred embodiment the liquid is dispensed as an atomized spray.

Abstract: A manually operated pump dispensing device is provided for dispensing a liquid product. The manually operated pump dispensing device includes a container for storing the liquid product, a dispensing pump and a gas-permeable/liquid-impermeable vent. The container has an interior chamber and an exterior that is exposed to the environment. The dispensing pump is attached to the container in fluid communication with the liquid product. The dispensing pump has a discharge orifice and an actuator. The gas-permeable/liquid-impermeable vent comprises a venting module that includes a membrane and a support frame. The membrane is gas-permeable/liquid-impermeable and is affixed onto the support frame such that the membrane surrounds the support frame. The vent allows for communication between the interior chamber and the environment, thereby passively venting the container.
