  • Patent number: 6715510
Abstract: An electro-hydraulic controller having a plurality of solenoid operated valves mounted in inlet and outlet ported valving cavities on a non-metallic manifold block. The manifold block has inlet and outlet ports sealed by a gasket for communication with corresponding ports in a metallic base to which the manifold block is attached. The base is sufficiently rigid to resist prohibitive deflection when exposed to the forces of fluid pressure when secured over the open hydraulic channels of an automatic transmission shift circuit deck. The non-metallic manifold may be fabricated to “Net Shape” without costly secondary operations to achieve critical dimensions.

  • Patent number: 6276193
Abstract: A remotely actuatable diagnostic valve biased normally open is disposed in the air inlet of a vehicle fuel tank vapor storage canister and a thermistor disposed to sense vapor temperature above the liquid level in the fuel tank. Upon engine shutdown, the valve is remotely actuated to close. When the fuel vapor in the tank cools to form a vacuum in the tank, the vacuum overcomes the valve bias and holds the valve shut when the valve is remotely de-actuated. A valve position sensor provides confirmation that the valve has been held shut by the vapor vacuum when the valve is de-actuated. If a leak exists the vacuum will be insufficient to hold the valve closed after remote de-actuation; and, the valve is biased open, whereupon the valve position sensor provides a fault indication signal.

  • Patent number: 5911879
Abstract: A filter/drier for receiving and discharging a flow of refrigerant having a header with an inlet passage forming a plenum and an outlet passage through the header. A louvered baffle plate has peripheral tabs crimped over an annular flange on the header to form a subassembly. A cup-shaped shell containing desiccant, with a layer of fibrous filter material over the desiccant, is assembled over the header subassembly and sealed to the header by weldment. The peripheral spaces between the crimped baffle tabs provide exclusive flow dispersion to an annular collector space in the header which communicates with the outlet passage.
