  • Patent number: 4441239
Abstract: A process for manufacturing an unground bearing suitable for high-speed applications comprises forming a subassembly including the inner race, ball and retainer; the subassembly being fabricated in a fixture which receives the balls from a standard ball feeding machine. The subassembly is, after completion, removed from the fixture and positioned in one of the halves of a split outer race, the other half of the split outer race is placed over the subassembly and an outer shell is thereafter crimped over the outer races to hold the bearing together.

  • Patent number: 4377802
Abstract: A reflector for rotatable signal lights includes a pair of coaxial parabolic reflecting surfaces which are interrupted and joined back-to-back with the juncture forming an aperture which defines a plane through the common focal point of the two reflecting surfaces. A lamp is positioned within this aperture so that its filament is intersected by and perpendicular to the plane formed by the aperture. The doubled-ended reflector and associated lamp is used in conjunction with any conventional type of rotating of oscillating drive.

  • Patent number: 4097331
Abstract: The coolant mass flow distribution in a liquid metal cooled reactor is enhanced by restricting flow in sub-channels defined in part by the peripheral fuel elements of a fuel assembly. This flow restriction, which results in more coolant flow in interior sub-channels, is achieved through the use of a corrugated liner positioned between the bundle of fuel elements and the inner wall of the fuel assembly coolant duct. The corrugated liner is expandable to accommodate irradiation induced growth of fuel assembly components.
