Abstract: A system for processing a product with a solvent containing volatile constituents, the system including a pressure chamber for receiving the product, a vacuum pump for evacuating the chamber, a solvent recirculating system for admitting the solvent at a predetermined pressure into the chamber, the solvent recirculating system including a heater for maintaining the temperature of the chamber at the saturation temperature of the solvent, gas liquid separator for separating the gas and liquid components of the solvent discharged from the chamber, a first closed loop system connected to the separator to return the gas constituent to the chamber and a second closed loop system connected to the separator to return the liquid component to the chamber.

Abstract: A method is provided for cleaning an article with a solvent having a boiling point such that the solvent is a gas at room temperature and one atmosphere pressure. Such a method includes the steps of disposing the article in a chamber, introducing the solvent into the chamber so that the solvent contacts the article, pressurizing the chamber so that the solvent is in a liquid state and removes contaminants from the article, purging the chamber to remove the solvent, and removing the treated article from the chamber. Such a system permits the use of liquids having boiling points lower than room temperature, such as certain C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 halocarbons, which liquids have not previously been used as cleaning solvents.

Abstract: An emission control system for a fluid composition comprised of volatile constituents used to clean a hollow fiber filter or capillary flow dialyzer including a housing having a chamber for receiving the dialyzer, a control system is used for establishing a desired environment in the chamber, the dialyzer and the fibers, a separator operatively associated with the chamber for separating gas and liquid components of the fluid composition, a stripper connected to the separator for fractionating lower boiling point volatiles from the gas to return the higher boiling point volatiles to the fluid phase and yield a stripped or solvent humidified gas and a delivery system for routing the stripped gas to the chamber dialyzer and fibers as a drying agent.

Abstract: A storage module for adjustable disposition within a cavity, bounded by opposed side walls, of a refrigerator unit. The module being secured therein by a spaced array of complimentary fixturing projections and fixturing cavities which are oriented angularly upwardly. The fixturing projections and fixturing cavities being arranged for selective mating engagement therebetween and positional restraint of the module in a predetermined location within the cavity. The fixturing projections and fixturing cavities being stabilized by a tribiological interface along at least a portion of the mating surfaces between the projections and cavities to restrain the module against dislodgment forces. The projections and cavities are tapered in the plane of movement of the module of each of the projections and cavities including an upper surface disposed at a first angle in the plane and a lower surface disposed at a second angle in the plane.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sterilization of liquid food products utilizing a generally cylindrical pressure vessel. The liquid product to be treated is introduced at the top of the vessel in such a manner as to form an insulating barrier of liquid product between the heated interior and any interior surfaces of vessel which the product comes in contact with including the vessel side walls. Steam is introduced through a centrally located diffuser intermediate the top and bottom of the vessel for heating the liquid to a sterilization temperature. A gas removal pipe is provided for removing air and gases released from the liquid product and remaining after condensation of the steam from the lower portion of the vessel. The insulating barrier of liquid product may be formed by the use of a plurality of spray nozzles, by a combination of spray and direct film formation, or by direct film formation alone.

Abstract: An infant/child chair restraint including a chair panel of flexible fabric material having hook-and-loop fastening strips at the ends of the panel for adjustably mounting the panel on the back of a chair, a child panel of flexible fabric material having a strip of stiffening material therein and having hook-and-loop fastening strips at the end for adjustably mounting the panel on the body of a child, the chair panel and child panel being connected at their midpoints, and a crotch panel having one end connected to the midpoint of the chair and child panels and having an adjustable loop at the other end for connecting the crotch panel to the child panel.

Abstract: An audio signal device for a door mounted advertising display, the device includes a signal unit, a battery connected to said signal unit, the unit including a tone generator, a pulse generator connected to control the tone generator, a timer connected to control the time of operation of the pulse generator, and a motion switch connected to energize the timer in response to the motion of the door, the timer further including a circuit for preventing reactivation of the timer for a predetermined period of time.

Abstract: A driveway truck restraining apparatus including a sealed casing embedded partially in the ground, a ram mounted in the casing for movement between a storage position and an operative position blocking the travel of the ICC bar located on the back of a truck, a pneumatic piston and cylinder assembly mounted on the loading dock and being operatively connected to the ram, and an indoor signal assembly mounted on the inside of the loading dock and an outdoor signal assembly mounted on the outside of the loading dock, the signal assemblies being electrically connected to the piston and cylinder assembly to provide control signals indicating the position of the ram and the absence or presence of a truck at the loading dock.

Abstract: An aseptic pipe joint for food processing pipe fittings of the type including a pair of frustoconical ferrules having radially extending surfaces, a "C" shaped metallic ring positioned between the surfaces in abutting relation therewith, a resilient O-ring filling the "C" shaped ring to form an aseptic seal, a resilient seal ring positioned between the ferrule surfaces and spaced radially outwardly from the "C" shaped ring forming a hermetic zone between the seals and a passage in one of the ferrules connected to the hermetic zone for testing the aseptic seal.

Abstract: A slat wall display apparatus including a panel assembly formed from a number of panels having connecting channels formed on the panels and a connector for matingly engaging the connecting channels, the connector having "T" shaped, hook-shaped, or circular-shaped edges to matingly engage the channels, the panel assembly being mounted in a floor or wall frame, one or more of the panels including a light for illuminating the panel assembly.

Abstract: A bottle packaging apparatus including a dual line bottle conveyor, a cover conveyor for feeding contoured covers to the bottles on the conveyor, a magazine positioned above the cover conveyor and including a pair of guide tubes for supporting a stack of contoured covers, each cover including flexible means for separating one cover from another, and a tab or ring mounted on the bottom of the guide tube for bending the flexible means into engagement with the next cover to physically separate the cover from the stack when the cover is pulled off of the guide tubes.

Abstract: A funnel including a conical body having a spout formed at the narrow end of said body and three straps equaly spaced around the periphery of the body and connected to the top of the body and the bottom of the spout so that the strap is spaced outwardly from the body and spout throughout the full length of the strap, and each strap including a number of equally spaced notches to support the funnel in a vertical relation to an angularly disposed neck of a tank or container.

Abstract: An infusion heating apparatus, including a hollow sealed vessel having a porous steam dispensing cylinder located along the central axis of the vessel, a number of spray nozzles mounted in a circle at the top of the vessel and arranged to introduce a liquid form material to be treated in a continuous shower of droplets directed radially and downwardly between the interior walls of the vessel and the steam dispensing cylinder, a frusto-conical cylindrical member mounted in the housing below the spray nozzles to separate the shower of droplets from the dispensing cylinder, an air and gas discharge tube passing axially through the dispensing cylinder and terminating at the bottom of the vessel and a cooling jacket surrounding the outside surface of the vessel.

A gas removal pipe is provided for removing air and gases released from the liquid product and remaining after condensation of the steam from the lower portion of the vessel. The insulating barrier of liquid product may be formed by the use of a plurality of spray nozzles, by a combination of spray and direct film formation, or by direct film formation alone.
