Abstract: An apparatus for filtering air containing textile impurities, comprises an air-permeable, fixed collecting device preferably of accordion shape, for separating the textile impurities. The collecting device has a number of filtering portions which can be cleaned by at least one suction device.

Abstract: A precompact of flowable brake-lining composition is formed in an intermediate die by pressing the material in a direction perpendicular to the generatrices of the curved surfaces between which the material is pressed, whereupon the intermediate die is swung onto the hot-pressing die and the precompact transferred between synchronously driven rams into the hot-pressing die. A horizontal ram effects the final hot pressing of the precompact, advantageously directly bonding the same to a brakeshoe.

Abstract: The apparatus for packing cylindrical stacks of a plurality of disk-like workpieces, particularly covers, positioned beside each other with equal numbers of workpieces, in a jacket made of wrapping paper has at least one receiving trough for the stacks and clamping rails movable laterally into a raised position and raisable and lowerable as well as movable toward each other associated with it for transferring the stack into a wrapping station provided laterally beside the receiving trough with drivable supporting rollers for the stack. At least one pressing roll running parallel to the supporting rollers is lowerable in the wrapping station to the stack and a longitudinally movable carriage is provided with a pressure-limiting contacting member for pressing the stack against a fixed support. A carriage-mounted cutter for cutting away the edge of the paper wrapped around the stack is located on the carriage.
Abstract: In the threading of roving coming from a roving bobbin into a running set of drafting rolls of a work station of a spinning machine, the beginning end of the roving coming from the roving bobbin is grasped and brought into the set of drafting rolls bypassing at least the first (upstream-most) pair of rolls and is delivered to the drafting rolls downstream thereof. Only then is the roving fed into the set of drafting rolls bypassing at least the first pair of rolls inserted laterally in the preceding (bypassed) roll pair or pairs from a side of the free or unjournaled end of the upper roll.
Abstract: A column packing has a multiplicity of generally horizontal superposed layers each of which is provided with adjacent pyramidal formations with open pyramidal sides so that at alternating junctions, the flow through the packing layer receives a rotational impetus in opposite senses. The vectoral sums of the rotation cancel out although the local vorticity ensures intimate mixings of the fluids. The pyramids may have triangular, square or rectangular bases and the apexes of an adjacent layer may coincide with the junctions of the bases of the next layer.
Abstract: A faucet for mixing hot and cold water especially for a wash fixture, wash bowl or the like comprises a faucet housing connectable to hot and cold water supply pipes having a mixing or outlet chamber which is connected with a water outlet piece which is a withdrawable shower hose outlet. An aerating device responding to low pressure in the chamber which prevents a reverse suction of dirty water by the faucet is integrated in the faucet housing with the mixing or outlet chamber connected with it. This aerating device at least comprises one closure member pressed at least by the force of gravity into the closed position. The weight of the closure member is so chosen that the closure member is drawn into the open position with a lower pressure in the mixing or outlet chamber and communicates between the mixing or outlet chamber and/or the supply pipes and the atmosphere to supply air to the system.

Abstract: A sleeve has at least one formation adapted to hold the sleeve against rotation in a similarly formed opening provided in a panel to be locked against a frame, a lock cylinder rotatably seated in the sleeve and traversing same to extend beyond an end thereof, the extension of the lock cylinder formed with a shank portion having one end of an elongated camming tongue mounted thereon and rotatable by the lock cylinder between a locked position in which the other end of the tongue extends across a separation between the panel and the frame and engages the frame, and an unlocked position in which the tongue lies wholly within an outline of the panel, and brace means mounted on the sleeve and extending substantially to the separation and formed with at least one slot adapted to receive the tongue at least in the locked position thereof.
Abstract: An ironing machine provided with a pair of press plates are juxtaposed with respective elastic webs on tensioning frames which can stretch the webs with the article to be pressed between them so as to tension the article outwardly from the center on both sides, the tension being maintained during pressing.
