  • Patent number: 3985075
Abstract: A multi-directional initiating device for firing a detonator is triggered an inward or outward displacement of one or both slider means, which operatively engage a pivoting double sear mounted on a biased shaft carrying a firing pin when the device is armed or cocked.

  • Patent number: 3985079
Abstract: A fuze device to self-destruct a spinning projectile when the primary fuz system, such as mechanical time fuze or point detonating fuze, fails to function. The fuze utilizes separate locking devices which are each responsive to acceleration environments that a projectile experiences in a normal launch and flight. A setback pin, double resiliently mounted detents, spin detent, armed indicator, shutter, rotor, plunger, plunger lock and sac assembly containing silicone grease pressed on by blades of the rotor combine in a mechanically complementary design which insures that this self-destruct fuze may not be assembled armed in a projectile but will fire a projectile in which it is assembled in response to terminal deceleration of the projectile.

  • Patent number: 3976029
Abstract: A device for applying a film of liquid adhesive to the inside lip surface a cylindrical cap includes a vessel containing a body of liquid adhesive, a means, e.g., a drive plate, for rotating the cylindrical cap and one or more rotatable knurled wheels or discs which touch the liquid adhesive and resiliently contact the inside cap surface, whereby the wheel is rotated by rotation of the cap and applies the adhesive to the cap.Magnets in the drive plate attract magnets in the knurled wheels sufficient to constantly turn the wheels when they are not being resiliently pressed against the inner surface of the cap.

  • Patent number: 3967404
Abstract: A combination cartridge extractor-ejector device includes a bolt provided th loop of spring steel having a hook end and a spring end projecting therefrom. When the bolt is moved against the cartridge case in the gun breech, the hook slides over and engages the flanged rim of the case while the spring is compressed against the case end; and when the bolt is moved away from the breech sufficient to extract the engaged case, the spring causes the case to pivot on the hook sufficient to disengage the rim from the hook and thereby eject the case from the gun.

  • Patent number: 3943017
Abstract: This invention relates to self-supporting, water-resistant explosive comptions composed essentially entirely of explosively active ingredients and methods for making same. The compositions consist essentially of a particulate high explosive and a high viscosity nitrocellulose binder plasticized with TMETN (trimethylolethane trinitrate) without the use of other plasticizers.
