Abstract: A cable-end-portion bend forming device for an automatic connecting apparatus includes: a front guide roller and a rear guide roller for guiding a cable being fed out at two positions on front and rear sides of the device; and a front forming roller and a rear forming roller disposed between the two positions and supported rotatably by two supporting members, respectively, the front forming roller and the rear forming roller being adapted to approach positions of abutment, or substantial abutment, against the front guide roller and the rear guide roller, respectively, wherein at least the supporting member for supporting the rear forming roller is capable of moving the rear forming roller between a position in close proximity to the rear guide roller and a position spaced apart therefrom.

Abstract: A toy formed as an inflatable football helmet which cannot be put on a person's head has first, second and third parts which are respectively an outer shell formed generally as a helmet with top, front and rear parts, a bottom closure part generally opposite said top part of the helmet, and a face mask overlying said front part of the helmet, these parts all formed of flexible, thin plastic sheet material, said first and second parts defining a first enclosed space, said third part formed a grid of tubes whose bores communicate with each other and define a second enclosed space, said first and second enclosed spaces communicating with each other.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of an .alpha.-tocopherol phosphate, especially in its dl or d form, or an ester thereof, of the general formula ##STR1## in which: R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, such as the methyl or ethyl radical in particular, or an .alpha.-tocopheryl radical; and R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, such as a methyl or ethyl radical in particular, or an oxyethylene chain of the formula ##STR2## in which R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently are a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical and n is an integer greater than or equal to 1, or a salt thereof, for preparing a pharmaceutical, dermatological or cosmetic composition for the prevention or treatment of allergic manifestations such as skin allergy or bronchial asthma, or inflammatory manifestations, or for the prevention or treatment of the harmful effects of free radicals.

Abstract: A process is described in which hospital refuse is comminuted to a powder-like consistency or at least so as to be capable of being pumped and subsequently subjected to heat sterilisation treatment in a highly turbulent dynamic thin layer.

Abstract: An eccentric bearing having three bearing races arranged one over another, of which one with the center ring forms an inner rolling bearing and the other with the center ring forms an outer rolling bearing, wherein the center ring in each instance consists of a bearing ring insert for of each of said two rolling bearings and a supporting ring of castable or injectable plastic between and positioning said bearing ring inserts.

Abstract: A tool-carrier turret having a high displacement speed, particularly for lathes and work centres the rotatable table of which is provided with a plurality of supports for fixed tools and a plurality of supports for tools of the rotating type. The turret is provided with a single motor for driving the rotating tools and for displacement of the table through respective mechanical transmissions, as well as a device for commuting the drive from the electric motor to one or other of the mechanical transmissions in synchronism with the device for locking and releasing the table. An encoder is connected to the drive shaft of the rotatable table via a mechanical coupling which makes it possible to obtain a complete rotation of the encoder shaft for each angular displacement of the table between two successive tools.

Abstract: A crawler belt for use on a crawler motor vehicle has an elongate belt body drivable in a predetermined direction, and a plurality of ridges mounted on a ground contact side of the belt body, each of the ridges having at least one sipe defined in a free end thereof for allowing the ridge to be flexibly deformable in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction. Each of the ridges has a plurality of sipes defined therein and extending longitudinally thereof or substantially perpendicularly to the predetermined direction. The ridges comprise a plurality of chevron-shaped ridges pointing toward the predetermined direction and succesively arranged at predetermined spaced intervals in the predetermined direction. The ridges are divided into a plurality of groups each including a plurality of ridges by grooves extending transversely of the belt body, and divided into a plurality of segments by at least one longitudinal groove extending longitudinally of the belt body.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for classifying or sorting objects by projecting and irradiating an object through an irradiation zone and then examining the radiation emitted by the object to determine its class, the irradiating zone having a length in a vertical plane greater than its width where its length to width ratio is greater than 5:1.

Abstract: A spray device for mounting on a fluid dispenser connected to a tank; the device being of the type comprising a head provided with an expansion chamber into which the outlet orifice of said dispenser opens out; the expansion chamber communicating with a nozzle via at least one outlet duct. The nozzle is constituted by a hinged inner element which is at least partially received in the outlet duct, and by an outer element fixed to bear in sealed manner against the inner element so as to define between their respective contacting surfaces a network of swirl-inducing channels communicating with the outlet duct and opening to the outside via a spray orifice formed through the outer element.

Abstract: An outboard engine assembly for use on a boat includes an engine having a substantially vertical crankshaft and a pair of banks of vertically juxtaposed horizontal cylinders, the banks being arranged in a V shape, the cylinders of the banks having axes angularly spaced from each other by an angle of 90.degree. or smaller. The outboard engine assembly has a propeller operatively connected to a downwardly extending vertical shaft coupled to the crankshaft. The engine and the vertical shaft is accommodated in a case assembly. The engine and the case assembly are installed on the hull of the boat by upper and lower support members. Vibroisolating rubber dampers are disposed between the boat hull and the upper and lower support members for isolating vibrations from the engine from the boat hull.

Abstract: An endless ink ribbon cartridge with protected splice of the endless ribbon, wherein a reactance detector element housed in the cartridge at a location close to a predetermined travel path of the ink ribbon increases its reactance as a conductive strip disposed on the ribbon at a predetermined location relative to the splice moves close past the detector element, the reactance increase being detected by a protection arrangement external of the cartridge to prevent printing operations from being carried out through said splice.

Abstract: A steam generator includes an orifice for feeding water to a porous material, a heater element passing through said porous material, and an outlet orifice for the steam created by heating said water, wherein the porous material and its heater element are contained in a case disposed in a removable sealed cassette that is connected in operation to a fixed portion of the generator containing water feed means, means for controlling the heater elements, and means for taking off the steam. The sealed cassette is connected to the fixed portion of the generator by means of snap-fastenings in order to enable rapid connection and deconnection, and it includes a water admission orifice connected to an internal case containing a heater element for the water and around which a porous material is compressed, said case including orifices over its entire surface for evacuating the steam produced by the heater element, with the steam being extracted from the cassette via a steam outlet orifice.

Abstract: A computer frame of riveted modular construction, formed by a plurality of essentially flat structural members provided with stiffening ribs which members are formed from zinc plated sheet metal and only joined together by riveting following an additional step of fully zinc plating the individual members, with no need for any further protective and finishing treatments.
