  • Patent number: 8297996
Abstract: A safety socket includes a first conductive clamp seat and a second conductive clamp seat in alignment with a first insertion hole and a second insertion hole. In normal state, the first and second conductive clamp seats are spaced from a first power terminal and a second power terminal in an open state. When a plug is plugged into the safety socket, the prongs of the plug outward bias spring limbs of the first and second conductive clamp seats into contact with the corresponding first and second power terminals respectively. Only under such circumstance, the first and second conductive clamp seats electrically contact the first and second power terminals to close the circuit and provide power for an electric appliance. If a child inserts a conductive article into the first or second insertion hole, the danger of electrical shock can be avoided to ensure safety in use of electricity.

  • Patent number: 8301231
Abstract: Alarm tests are disclosed which use alarm test signals to assess alarms provided by medical devices. Especially relevant are implanted devices that monitor cardiac activity and provide notification in response to medically relevant events. Alarm tests can occur periodically, or in response to a patient, doctor, or remote party initiating the alarm test. Alarm tests can also occur during the actual alarms issued to detected medical events. Alarm tests lead to pass or fail results, which in turn may cause operations to contingently occur. Alarm test failure in the auditory, visual, or tactile modality, may cause an alternatively defined alarm signal to be used as back-up. Alarm test logs can store alarm test results, including quantification of the measured alarm signal. Rapid alarm tests are described, as are various methods of accurately measuring characteristics of the test signal in ambulatory patients, which are especially relevant to a vibration alarm.

  • Patent number: 8294498
Abstract: A clock de-skewing delay locked loop circuit is revealed. In the clock de-skewing delay locked loop circuit, a timing control circuit generates a first and a second clock signals according to an external and an internal clock signal. A clock delay line delays the first clock signal or the external clock signal to generate delay signals. A delay mirror circuit synchronizes the internal clock signal with the external clock signal. A phase adjustment circuit inverts the internal clock signal according to the phase difference. An inverting buffer circuit buffers the external clock signal or the first clock signal for adding an initial delay time so as to make a duty cycle of internal clock signal and of the external clock signal complement each other. Thus the duty cycle of the external clock signal in the proposed circuit is not necessarily 50%.
