Abstract: A vertical MOS semiconductor device exhibits a high breakdown voltage and low on-resistance, reduces the tradeoff relation between the on-resistance and the breakdown voltage, and realizes high speed switching. The semiconductor device has a breakdown-voltage sustaining layer, such as an n?-type drift layer, and a well region, such as a p-type well region, in the breakdown-voltage sustaining layer. The resistivity ? (?cm) of the breakdown-voltage layer is within a range expressed in terms of the breakdown voltage Vbr (V). The semiconductor device also has stripe shaped surface drain regions that extend from the well region and are surrounded by the well region. The surface area ratio between surface drain regions and the well region, which includes the source region, is from 0.01 to 0.2.
Abstract: To maintain high productivity and performing high-grade processes while minimizing deviation of a sheet process position in a direction at a right angle to a sheet conveying direction whatever types of sheets are to be processed, timing for starting detection of an end position of each of the sheets is controlled so as to execute the detection of the end position of each of the sheets at a vicinity of a sheet processing position on the sheet at which a sheet process is executed.
Abstract: A gearshift operation device for a tiltable cab over type truck comprises a shift lever placed at an instrument panel, and a select cable and a shift cable which connect an operation lever unit for the shift lever and a manual transmission. After coming out of a cab, the cables curve to pass close by a hinge pivot which supports the cab, and extend toward the manual transmission.

Abstract: There is provided an image forming apparatus which is capable of responding to a status request with the minimum possible energy consumption even when the image forming apparatus is in a sleep state, to thereby achieve energy conservation. A main-chip microcomputer Q701 responds to an externally input status request when the image forming apparatus is in a normal standby mode, and enters an inoperative state where it does not respond to the externally input status request when the image forming apparatus is in a reduced power consumption mode. A 1-chip microcomputer Q702 responds to the externally input status request on behalf of the main-chip microcomputer Q701 when the image forming apparatus is in the reduced power consumption mode.

Abstract: There is provided an image forming apparatus which can output a job with a higher priority level in a timely manner without processing other jobs first, when a container has been attached to the image forming apparatus. Images on sheets are formed in accordance with an image forming job by a color MFP 104. The sheets on which the images have been formed is conveyed to a stacker tray 1207 detachably attached to an inserter 108 attached to the black-and-white MFP 105. Storage of the sheets on which the images have been formed in the stacker tray 1207 is controlled to selectively inhibit or allow the storage according to the priority level of the image forming job by a CPU 1805 of the color MFP 104.
Abstract: A semiconductor device is configured to prevent destruction of elements and/or miss-operation of the circuit by parasitic effects produced by parasitic transistors when a MOSFET of a bridge circuit is formed on a single chip. A Schottky junction is formed by providing an anode electrode in an n well region where a source region, a drain region, and a p well region of a lateral MOSFET. A Schottky barrier diode constituting a majority carrier device is connected in parallel with a PN junction capable of being forward-biased so that the PN junction is not forward-biased so that minority carriers are not generated, and thereby suppressing parasitic effects.

Abstract: An electronic musical instrument according to the invention stores a difference tone identifying table which associates musical sounds of different pitches with a difference tone perceived from the musical sounds of different pitches. Receiving an instruction to simultaneously produce musical sounds of different pitches, the electronic musical instrument extracts a difference tone corresponding to the musical sounds of different pitches from the difference tone identifying table and generates then outputs a sound signal corresponding to the extracted difference tone and the musical sounds of different pitches.
