  • Patent number: 4207528
Abstract: A timing-phase control system provided on the receiving side of a duobinary transmission system is adaptable to high-speed PCM repeater systems using a wide-band transmission medium such as a coaxial cable. The system includes a discriminating and regenerating circuit for recovering the transmitted digital signal by discriminating and regenerating in an appropriate timing phase based on an input equalized duobinary waveform, a phase varying circuit for varying the phase of a timing signal externally supplied to the discriminating and regenerating circuit, and a derivative waveform generating circuit. In one embodiment, the derivative waveform generating circuit is responsive to the output of the discriminating and regenerating circuit, and a multiplier multiplies the output of the derivative waveform generating circuit and the equalized duobinary waveform by each other in a predetermined phase relationship.

  • Patent number: 4135136
Abstract: An improvement in an electromagnetic switch matrix permits the simultaneous closing of a plurality of cross-points either in the same row or in the same column without causing the erroneous operation of nonselected cross-points. The switch matrix is of the divisionally excited type having a magnetic shunt plate with sealed switches disposed in through apertures therein at cross-point locations. First, second, third and fourth windings are wound around the sealed switches so as to generate control magnetic fields for controlling the operations of the respective sealed switches. An asymmetrical magnetization is given to the sealed switches with respect to the top and bottom planes so that there is a difference in the magnetization of the sealed switches on either side of the shunt plate when driven by the windings.

  • Patent number: 4107143
Abstract: The present invention provides a substantially linear aromatic polyester carbonate consisting essentially of hydroxybenzoic acid unit, hydroquinone unit, and carbonate unit as well as, depending on the circumstances, aromatic carboxylic acid unit, and having an inherent viscosity of at least 0.5. The present invention also provides an industrially advantageous method for producing such linear aromatic polyester carbonate through the process steps of melt-polycondensation, and, if necessary, followed by a further polycondensation in solid phase.Such aromatic polyester carbonate which the present invention provides exhibits excellent melt-forming property and melt anisotropy, hence any shaped article obtained by melt-forming of this aromatic polyester carbonate exhibits superior mechanical properties, in particular, excellent Young's modulus of longitudinal elasticity, and so on, which is highly useful as the material for industrial applications.
