  • Patent number: 6755349
Abstract: A housing defines a sealed interior cavity to provide buoyancy for floating the housing in water. A rechargeable battery maintains the vertical alignment of the buoyant housing. The buoyant housing supports a plurality of upwardly directed lights and fountain nozzles together with a plurality of manually accountable switches. An internal pump mechanism draws water into the buoyant housing and forces it upwardly through the fountain nozzles to produce vertically directed fountain sprays. The fountain sprays may be illuminated by the light assemblies. A remote control receiver and control circuit within the buoyant housing receives operative control signals from a handheld remote control unit. A remotely controlled rotation valve is operatively coupled to the pump output and provides a laterally directed water spray component tending to rotate the entire fountain unit. A tether and anchor fix the unit position within a swimming pool. An ultra sound mechanism automatically spaces the unit from the pool edges.

  • Patent number: 6660190
Abstract: A fire and flame retardant composition is provided by mixing brazing flux, baking soda, lime and redwood bark to form the basis of the material composition. The basic material is then readily combined with other materials including flammable items such as silicone, epoxy glue, or the like to produce a composite material which remains resistant or impervious to fire and flame. The basic material composition is further combined with a suitable binder such as silicone to form a coating mixture which, when layered upon a fabric such as cotton fabric, produces a fire and flame retardant garment which also produces improved insulation and protective characteristics while remaining flexible.

  • Patent number: 6614719
Abstract: An ultrasound transducer is coupled to a transmitter having a source of ultrasound signal. A receiving ultrasound transducer is coupled to a preamplifier and mixer. The mixer is further coupled to a demodulator and filter which in turn is coupled to an amplifier and a comparator. The comparator output is coupled to a controller which performs edge detection of the comparator output signal. The transmitter produces ultrasound energy which is reflected from an object to the receiving transducer. The shift in frequency between the transmitted ultrasound energy and the reflected ultrasound energy is used to determine the speed of the object by employing doppler effect. Frequency detection is enhanced by mixing the transmitted and reflected ultrasound signals to provide a beat frequency signal.

  • Patent number: 6595385
Abstract: A game apparatus includes a figure having a head supporting a rotating plate and a torso supported upon a base. The torso defines a token dispensing passage in communication with the head and further supports a pivotably moveable arm. The arm is pivotable between a raised position and a lowered position against a return spring which urges it toward its raised position. A gear mechanism is operable in response to downward movement of the arm against the return spring to rotate the plate within the figures head and agitate a plurality of disc-like tokens received within the head chamber. A single token is discharged through the torso and outwardly through the door formed in the figures torso to complete token dispensing. The arm is released and the cycle repeated by each player to dispense game tokens.
