Abstract: A roller-reamer stabilizer having a plurality of roller cutters mounted in recesses in the supporting body such that each roller is free to rotate in its own bearing blocks. The cutters and bearing blocks are provided with air bleed lubrication and cooling from a central bore in the supporting body as is common and well known in the art. The present invention deals with the supporting body of a roller-reamer stabilizer of the near bit type and in particular one that would be used in the mining blast hole drilling industry. This supporting body is characterized by having a profiled lower end having maximum diameter outer surfaces separated by minimum diameter relief areas. The maximum diameter surfaces are, respectively, aligned with the cutters and extend upwardly from near the lower surface of the body to encompass the lower bearing blocks. The minimum diameter relief areas extend further up the body and terminate level with the upper bearing blocks.
Abstract: A conduit system for the flow of a fluid medium therethrough wherein the system is made up of a plurality of elongated conduit segments connected by means of fittings, such as straight connectors, elbows, T's or the like. The conduit segments are composed of opaque material and the fittings are composed of transparent material.
Abstract: A unique mixture of expanded polystyrene beads and vermiculite is molded to form a one piece nesting block, having a plurality of egg laying holes for the leaf cutter bee. The unique nesting block is light weight and possesses the necessary environmental characteristics attractive to the leaf cutter bee namely, dissipation of water while providing a degree of permeability necessary to prevent mold and other harmful effects to the bee larvae.
Abstract: An elongated fishing lure which has generally flat and parallel sides through most of its length and which includes a through bore extending longitudinally through its length to accommodate a fishing line or leader freely therein.
Abstract: A coupling assembly for coupling a tractor to a drawn vehicle or implement comprises a coupling body for attachment to one of a tractor drawbar or trailer tongue, and for engagement with a ball secured to the other of said tractor drawbar or trailer tongue, the body defining ramp means for guiding a ball into a socket forming part of the body, a movable element for locking a ball in said socket, movable second ramp means for guiding a ball out of the socket, and means for operating the movable element and second ramp means between a locking position in which the ball is held in the socket and a release position in which the ball is free to move out of the socket up the second ramp means.
Abstract: A clamp which comprises a metal band adapted to be wrapped around a pipe over a suitable gasket. The longitudinal edges of the band are secured to lug bars, one having fingers secured to it and the other having threaded bolts secured to it. The free ends of the bolts are each provided with a nut and washer soldered together to form a nut/washer combination. Each finger is generally U-shaped including a base portion and two leg portions. The bottom edges of the legs adjacent their free ends are welded to a lug bar. The legs converge over a part of their length from a first spacing in the region of the base portion sufficient to accommodate a nut/washer to a second spacing in the region of the lug bar sufficient to accommodate a bolt but not a nut/washer. The top edges of the converging parts of the legs slope outwardly with respect to the bottom edges. The legs have flat ends to accommodate a nut/washer and tabs adjacent the top edges restrain the nut/washer against outward movement while the nut is tightened.
Abstract: The invention relates to a guide bushing used to maintain alignment of a rotary shaft and in particular to a guide bushing for use as a mining deck bushing. When drilling blast holes in surface mining operations, it is conventional to pass the drill pipe through a deck bushing located on the floor or deck of the blast hole drill. During drilling operations the drill pipe has a tendency to run off laterally, and vibrate vertically. The purpose of the deck bushing is to keep the drill pipe as straight as possible, and prevent wear of the more costly deck. The present invention provides a guide bushing for use as a deck bushing and is equipped with a rotatable inner sleeve which is supported by angular journal bearing surfaces and ball bearings located in elongate annular grooves, which allow the guide bushing to maintain alignment of the drill pipe without premature failure of the ball bearings, grooves or other bearing surfaces.
Abstract: A long-handled self-dumping dust pan is adapted to be used by a person standing in an upright position. Long-handled dust pans of varying shapes and sizes are known. Those which are automatic dumping however, are complex, heavy and expensive to produce. The present invention overcomes these disadvantages by providing a simple, easy to produce, long-handled dust pan. It is equipped with a lever positioned close to the operator's hand which disengages a detent from a recess in the pan, thereby allowing the refuse to fall into a suitable container.
