Patent number: 7497222Abstract: A dishwashing machine including a comminution device and a method for comminuting residue in the dishwasher. The comminution device at minimal manufacturing costs, makes it possible to easily comminute the coarse contaminants or residue accumulating during the rinse cycle in the dishwashing machine, flush it out of the dishwasher and at the same time reduce the danger of clogging the sieve(s) placed in the dishwasher. The comminution device preferably is actuated by the lye pump of the dishwashing machine. In this manner the comminution device is actuated easily and efficiently, which both enables cost-effective manufacture of the dishwashing machine, and improves its operating safety and ease of maintenance. In the process the rinse residue can first collect during the rinse cycle in uncomminuted form on the floor of the rinsing container and only then be comminuted when the washing liquid is pumped out and flushed out of the dishwashing machine.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2004Date of Patent: March 3, 2009Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens HausgeraeteInventors: James Michael Edwards, Rüdiger Eiermann, Steffen Hörandel, Michael Rosenbauer, Hans-Dieter Rossteuscher

Patent number: 7422613Abstract: A filter system extracts particles and/or drops of liquid from air flowing through the filter system. The filter system has a filter layer disposed in a plane and a cyclone collector that is disposed in the edge region of the filter layer. The cyclone collector is provided with a device which, compared with the filter layer, creates a higher flow speed and stronger vortexing of the circulating air. The cyclone collector can be produced from horizontal cyclone elements, curved, horizontal elements or from expanded metal.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2004Date of Patent: September 9, 2008Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbHInventors: Martin Böckle, Achim Dittes, Egon Feisthammel, Ralf Grobleben, Martin Kornberger, Udo Reiff, Dieter Rosmann, Dietrich Schmid

Patent number: 7320403Abstract: A package, a method and a kit for a stretch hood packaging structure for an appliance on a semi-flexible shock-absorbing base. At least two pair of posts are assembled on the base, at least two of which can pivot with each of the post received within pockets of the base. A stretch hood then is installed over the package to engage the bottom of the base. The posts pivot to provide an interference fit on the base to prevent deformation of the base corners and maintain a flat bottom on the base for the completed package.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2004Date of Patent: January 22, 2008Assignee: BSH Home Appliances CorporationInventor: Charlie May, Jr.

Patent number: 7225804Abstract: A simple, highly reliable automatic motor driven oven door latch for an oven self-cleaning operation. To ensure that the motor has operated correctly and has not stopped in a null position, the motor is provided with a start pulse and the location of the latch or locking member of the latching mechanism is monitored to guarantee that the locking member has moved to the correct position. If the locking member has not moved to the correct position, then the motor is provided with another start pulse and the location of the latch or locking member of the latching mechanism again is monitored to again ensure that the locking member has moved to the correct position. This sequence can be repeated on opening and closing of the latching mechanism a desired number of times to guarantee that the locking member has moved to the correct position when locking or releasing the oven door.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2004Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Assignee: BSH Home Appliances CorporationInventors: Charlie Bruce Simmons, Jr., Manfred Staebler

Patent number: 7225056Abstract: In household appliances with a safety hose, the stop valve and the control valve are hydraulically connected in series. It is thus impossible, or very difficult, for the user to detect when one of the valves is operating erroneously and not closing completely. The functioning of the control valve and of the stop valve is checked each time the household appliance is used. For this purpose, the valves and are alternately opened and closed in a selected phase during operation, or are opened and closed one after the other. The change over time in the measured values is recorded and evaluated in a suitable manner at a pressure sensor and/or at a throughflow meter. On account of the multiple use of the measuring sensors that are present, the cost of implementing the method is restricted to expanding the control system software.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2004Date of Patent: May 29, 2007Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbHInventors: Edwin Bolduan, Horst Wiemer

Patent number: 7222662Abstract: A heat exchanger for a refrigerator contains a base plate, a conduit for a cooling agent, which is disposed such that the conduit is in heat-conducting contact with the base plate, and a layer of holding material. The layer of holding material adheres to the base plate and the conduit and is made of a bitumen composition. The heat exchanger is produced by stacking the base plate, the conduit, and a sheet made of the bitumen composition. The layer of holding material is formed from the sheet by heating and pressing the stack.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2004Date of Patent: May 29, 2007Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbHInventor: Michael Neumann
