  • Patent number: 8348284
Abstract: A roller skate having enhanced durability and stability is disclosed. Furthermore, the roller skate is particularly adapted for affixing to a person's footwear, such as sneakers, boots or the like. The skate includes a platform for supporting a skater's foot. The platform includes a toe plate and heel plate connected by an adjustable connecting assembly. A front truck is affixed to the underside of the toe plate, while a rear truck is affixed to the underside of the heel plate. The front truck includes simple bracket arms for affixing a single front wheel which is capable of rotating, but not capable of tilting about the platform's longitudinal axis. Meanwhile, the rear wheel truck is mounted to the underside of the heel plate so as to permit both tilting movement about an inclined longitudinal axis, and also rotation about a transverse axis relative to the roller skate's platform. Preferably, the roller skate includes three wheels rotatably mounted to the rear wheel truck.

  • Patent number: 8317569
Abstract: A wide chest band extends horizontally outward from each cup of a bra. The connecting end of each of the single chest bands splits into multiple connecting fingers to adjustably connect with mating multiple connecting fingers extending from the connecting end of the other single breast band. Each of the pairs of mating fingers has adjustable connectors so that each of the pairs of mating fingers is adjusted independently to allow the bra to attach firmly and comfortably around a tapered torso of a wearer taking into account the varying girth at different heights on the tapered body.

  • Patent number: 8256649
Abstract: A clothes hanger is provided including a hanger body and a hook assembly. The hanger body includes a pair of laterally and downwardly extending arms which connect at a central apex. The hook assembly is connected to the hanger body apex so as to rotate about a horizontal axis. The hook assembly includes a clothes rod hook and a door hook which extend in opposite directions from the hanger body's apex. The clothes rod hook includes an arcuate portion for hanging from a clothes rod having a circular cross-section. The door hook is u-shaped including a straight bar, a straight top plate, and a return flange. The door hook may be rotatable about an axis 90° relative to the axis which the hook assembly rotates about.

  • Patent number: 8251377
Abstract: A roller skate having enhanced steerability and stability is disclosed. The skate includes a platform for supporting a skater's foot and front and rear wheel trucks secured to the underside of the platform. A pair of front wheels is rotatably mounted in transverse axial alignment on the front wheel truck and a pair of rear wheels is rotatably mounted in transverse axial alignment on said rear wheel truck. The pairs of front and rear wheels are also in parallel axial alignment with each other and mounted on their respective wheel trucks for resiliently controlled, tilting movement about downwardly inclined longitudinal axis. In addition, a fifth wheel is rotatably mounted on the front wheel truck between the pairs of front and rear wheels and in parallel axial alignment with the wheel pairs. An additional preferred roller skate includes a single wheel rotatably mounted to the front toe plate. The front wheel is not tiltable about the skate's longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 8241688
Abstract: A tripe cutting board and method of making menudo is provided. The tripe cutting board includes a base plate and opposed sidewalls so as to form an elongate structure having a central trough. These sidewalls have opposed slots formed equal distance along the length of the sidewalls for introduction of a knife blade. The method of cutting tripe includes rolling a flat sheet of tripe into a tripe roll. The rolled tripe is then cut by slicing a knife downward between each of the opposed slots. The rolled tripe is cut into smaller rolls of tripe which are removed to form tripe strips. The tripe strips are positioned longitudinally into the cutting board trough and then cut once again to form substantially square pieces of tripe suitable for introduction into menudo soup.

  • Patent number: 8200494
Abstract: A speaker intent analysis system and method for validating the truthfulness and intent of a plurality of participants' responses to questions. A computer stores, retrieves, and transmits a series of questions to be answered audibly by participants. The participants' answers are received by a data processor. The data processor analyzes and records the participants' speech parameters for determining the likelihood of dishonesty. In addition to analyzing participants' speech parameters for distinguishing stress or other abnormality, the processor may be equipped with voice recognition software to screen responses that while not dishonest, are indicative of possible malfeasance on the part of the participants. Once the responses are analyzed, the processor produces an output that is indicative of the participant's credibility. The output may be sent to proper parties and/or devices such as a web page, computer, e-mail, PDA, pager, database, report, etc. for appropriate action.

  • Patent number: 8105004
Abstract: A composite metal male fastener is provided. The metal fastener includes an elongate hollow shell made of metal. The shell includes a threaded exterior for insertion or retraction from the threads of a female fastener. In addition, the shell element includes a central bore and a radially extending flange. The male fastener further includes a core element made of a composite material including plastic, fiberglass or carbon fiber or the like. In a first embodiment, the core element fills the shell's central bore and extends proximally from the proximal end of the shell to encapsulate the shell's flange to form a male fastener head. In an alternative embodiment, the shell's proximal extremity includes a radially extending flange to form a male fastener head for rotation of the male fastener. For this embodiment, the core element extends proximally to the shell's proximal end, without projecting beyond the shell's proximal end.

  • Patent number: 7975936
Abstract: A plumbing fixture including, but not limited to, an aspirating type shower head operates to add a selected scent to the spray water. The showerhead utilizes a venturi assembly where the water supply passes through a venturi. A negative pressure is created at the high velocity water jet stream point, near the narrow area of the venturi. A number of small openings in the venturi, to a surrounding air chamber, allow air from the chamber, to be drawn into the venturi. The air chamber has inlet openings for the aspiration of room air. At a portion of these inlet openings is a quick connect port to receive a scented cartridge. The scent cartridge is positioned within the quick connect port of the showerhead. Room air is drawn through and over the scented material where the high velocity air picks up scent molecules for expulsion from the outlet.
