  • Patent number: 7673732
Abstract: An apparatus according to the present invention is a transfer plate used in conveying manufactured product or raw materials onto or off from a conveyor belt. Generally, the transfer plate includes a support member and a transfer extension depending from the support member to interface to a predetermined conveyor belt. The support member may be coupled to a support structure to allow multidirectional flotation, or acceptable operational movement, of the plate due to incidental movement of the conveyor belt. The support member is preferably manually couplable to the support structure, thereby preventing the need for tools during repair or replacement. The transfer interface may include fingers or a modular interface plate.

  • Patent number: 7661630
Abstract: A bipartite, full span airplane flap system having an inboard flap portion and an outboard flap portion, wherein the outboard flap portion includes an integrated aileron mounted on its substantially equivalent spanwise length. The outboard flap portion is adapted to translate between a first and a second position to create a functional slot between a bottom surface of the flap member leading part and a bottom surface of the airfoil trailing part to draw a portion of higher pressure air from the bottom surface of the airfoil through the functional slot to distribute the higher pressure air over a top surface of the outboard flap portion.

  • Patent number: 7662312
Abstract: A pigment grade corrosion inhibitor and a method of applying the inhibitor is disclosed. The inhibitor is comprised of a host species comprised of an inorganic compound having a layered structure and a guest species comprised an anionic species of a weak acid. The host species is preferably a double hydroxide having a structure of: [M(II)1?x M(III)x (OH?)2] [An?x/n.y H2O], where M(II) is a divalent metal cationic species, M(III) is a trivalent metal cationic species, and An? is an anionic species, preferably with the species present in a range of: 0.2?M(III)/(M(II)+M(III))?0.4. The guest species include: various phosphoric acids and derivatives thereof; boric acid; cyanamidic acid; nitrous acid; derivatives of thio- and dithiocarbonic acid; thio-organic compounds functionalized with at least one —SH group of acidic character, including: 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole (DMTD), 2,4-dimercapto-s-triazolo-[4,3-b]-1,3-4 thiadiazole, trithiocyanuric acid (TMT), and dithiocyanuric acid.

  • Patent number: 7661344
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing shaped articles from a web material is disclosed. The apparatus generally includes a rotary cutting roller, preferably including indicia on an end surface, and an anvil roller operating in cooperating rotational movement with the rotary cutting roller. The apparatus die cuts web material into predetermined shapes. The apparatus further includes at least one sensor for detecting rotational movement of the rotary cutting die by way of the indicia on the end surface of the rotary cutting roller. The information from the at least one sensor and an encoder is processed and translated to drive means to thereby corrects variation in web alignment relative to the rotary cutting roller. The adjustment of the rotary cutting roller of the present invention allows the rotary cutting roller to cut within a high degree of accuracy and precision.

  • Patent number: 7640962
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying tape tabs to a traveling web of material, for example, placement of tape tabs on a running web of disposable undergarments. A pair of wheels each has a protuberance come in contact with the running web of material, which comes in contact with an infeeding tape web. The invention allows placement of tape tabs at asymmetrical spacings, where placement of the tape from contact of the first wheel and protuberance may not be equally or centrally spaced from placement of the tape by the second wheel and protuberance.
