  • Patent number: 5524497
Abstract: A sampling cavity for sampling molten metals includes a cavity body for receiving a measured sample of a molten metal, and, an insert containing a material for promoting carbide formation in the molten metal as it cools, the insert being in the form of an enclosed capsule formed of thin polymeric walls containing the material in finely divided solid form. The insert may be adhered within a fill inlet passage or attached at the bottom of a cup sampler having an open top either by being adhered directly to the cavity surface or by being supported in a supporting means such as a pair of fingers projecting from the bottom of the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5524337
Abstract: A catheter having an elongated polymeric body with hollow encircling ring electrodes thereon and a method of forming the same are provided by the invention. Ring electrodes are each connected to an external electrical circuit by wires extending through the lumen, the wires each passing through an aperture through a wall of the body and being connected to an interior surface of the ring electrode. The tubular body of the catheter is expanded into a tight interference fit with the interior surfaces of the ring electrodes by heating the body to a temperature approaching its glass transition temperature to permit relief of internal stresses.

  • Patent number: 5520424
Abstract: In a door latching and switch contact controlling device, an actuator having first and second radially extending angularly spaced apart members is mounted on a common shaft in a housing with a latching member for the member and actuator to rotate together. A striker fastened to a door strikes the first radially extending member when the door closes to turn the actuator so the second member rotates into an opening in the striker to thereby conceal the first member. An electroresponsive device positions a latching element into the path of a stop on the latching member when the device is energized, thereby preventing the actuator from turning reversely if an attempt is made to open the door.

  • Patent number: 5517912
Abstract: A system for registering printing screens used for printing in series on a substrate which includes a plurality of outwardly projecting electrical switches, with a pair of the switches being positioned to engage a first side of a screen frame and at least one switch being positioned to engage a second side of the screen frame. The first and second sides of the frame are orthogonal relative to each other and, a pair of lights are activated by engagement of the frame with the switches, both of the lights being activated by simultaneous engagement of each of the switches by a screen frame. Similar sets of switches are provided on a table that supports the screens during exposure to an image to be replicated during printing and on a device that temporarily replaces a printing platen for alignment of each screen in a multi screen printing device.

  • Patent number: 5513842
Abstract: A golf swing practice device for assisting a golfer in the development of a correct golf swing includes a flat support base, an upright supporting member extending upwardly from a surface of the base, and a bracket vertically adjustably mounted on the upright member. An arm extends laterally and is angularly adjustably mounted on the bracket. At least one, and preferably several pendulum members are suspended on the arm to serve as indicators that a practice golf swing did not travel in an optimum intended swing path.

  • Patent number: 5511466
Abstract: An annular trough is formed integrally with the rim of a bowl-like wok to provide a place to store and cook ingredients individually while one or more other ingredients are being cooked in the bowl. A cover used in combination with the wok is comprised of sheet metal formed as a truncated hemispherical configuration by metal spinning techniques. The cover mates with the wok in such manner that there is an annular passageway or gap that provides for convection of heat from the bowl of the wok to the trough for keeping ingredients stored therein warm or for cooking other ingredients that are stored in the trough. The cover covers the entire radial width of the trough.
