  • Patent number: 8351988
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for transmitting a plurality of information signals in a multiple antenna communication system. One or more information signals are coded using a plurality of coders to generate the plurality of coded information signals and an Inverse Fast Fourier Transformation is performed on each of the plurality of coded information signals to create a corresponding output signal. Each of the corresponding output signals are transmitted on a different antenna. Each of the plurality of coded information signals can optionally be separated into K signals. On the receiver side, a signal comprising K different frequencies is received on at least N receive antennas and a Fast Fourier Transformation is applied to each of the at least N received versions of the signal comprising K different frequencies to generate N*K low frequency signals.

  • Patent number: 8352230
Abstract: Electrical finite element analysis is carried out on a circuit design, which includes devices, to determine an acceptable power-performance envelope and to obtain data for circuit temperature mapping. A circuit temperature map is developed for the circuit design, based on the data for circuit temperature mapping. Thermo-mechanical finite element analysis is carried out on a package design for the circuit design, based on the circuit temperature map, to determine a package reliability limit based on thermal stress considerations. It is determined whether the package design and the circuit design jointly satisfy: (i) power-performance conditions specified in the acceptable power-performance envelope; and (ii) the package reliability limit based on the thermal stress considerations.

  • Patent number: 8346742
Abstract: A client device or other processing device comprises a file processing module, with the file processing module being operative to request proof from a file system that a file having a first format is stored by the file system in a second format different than the first format, to receive the proof from the file system, and to verify that the file is stored in the second format using the proof provided by the file system responsive to the request. The proof is based at least in part on application of a function to the file in the second format, and the function imposes a minimum resource requirement on generation of the proof. • Patent number: 8325854
Abstract: This inventions provides techniques for estimating both temporal and spectral channel fluctuations with the duration of a data symbol. Certain pulse shaping functions are Discrete Prolate Spheroidal Sequences (DPSSs) and are used primarily because of their relatively limited Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) properties. During reception, these properties allow one or more parameters of a joint time-frequency channel model to be more easily determined. Once the one or more parameters are determined, they can be applied to received symbols to correct the temporal fluctuations, spectral fluctuations, or both of the channel over which a communication took place. The techniques may be adapted for the Multiple-In, Multiple-Out communication situation.

  • Patent number: 8324667
Abstract: A circuit comprises a control line and a two terminal semiconductor device having first and second terminals. The first terminal is coupled to a signal line, and the second terminal is coupled to the control line. The two terminal semiconductor device is adapted to have a capacitance when a voltage on the first terminal relative to the second terminal is above a threshold voltage and to have a smaller capacitance when a voltage on the first terminal relative to the second terminal is below the threshold voltage. The control line is coupled to a control signal and the signal line is coupled to a signal and is output of the circuit. A signal is placed on the signal line and voltage on the control line is modified (e.g., raised in the case of n-type devices, or lowered for a p-type devices). When the signal falls below the threshold voltage, the two terminal semiconductor device acts as a very small capacitor and the output of the circuit will be a small value.
