  • Patent number: 5551250
Abstract: A freezer system is disclosed comprising a freezing mechanism and an adjacent freezer cabinet. The freezer mechanism has a compressor that produces hot gas refrigerant, a condenser, and an evaporator which accumulates ice on its outside surface. An evaporator condensate pan is mounted beneath the evaporator and a compressor condensate pan is mounted beneath the compressor and connected by a conduit to the evaporator condensate pan. A condensate pan heater coil is attached to the bottom of the evaporator condensate pan. A hot gas valve connected between the compressor and the condensate pan heater coil, when activated, conducts hot gas refrigerant to the condensate pan heater coil to heat it and thereby heat the attached evaporator condensate pan, which in turn heats the outside of the evaporator to help melt accumulated ice. The hot gas refrigerant is then fed from the condensate pan heater coil to the evaporator, heating the inside of the evaporator and fully melting the ice.

  • Patent number: 5215156
Abstract: A vehicle having an electro-generating system which includes a dynamoelectric generator. The shaft of the dynamoelectric generator is linked directly or indirectly with the rotating axle of the road wheels of the vehicle, preferably via a mechanical turns amplifier. The turns amplifier will multiply the rotation rate of the electro-generating system and increase the production capacity of electric power. The dynamoelectric generator can be utilized to recharge a storage battery driving the vehicle while the car is in motion, especially automatically when the vehicle is going down hill. The vehicle's electric motor can be driven directly from a dynamoelectric generator in place of a storage battery after the vehicle is moving. In railroad cars (freight and passenger) the electro-generating system can be utilized to charge storage batteries, with their electricity utilized for other electro-energy requirements.

  • Patent number: 4944164
Abstract: A convertible earring comprising a rigid earring body having a surface on one side and an ear attachment on the other side, with the surface having a raised portion and an adjacent decorated portion. When the earring body is attached to one ear by the ear attachment, the raised portion hides the adjacent decorated portion behind the raised portion when viewed from the front of the ear. But when the earring body is attached to the other ear, the adjacent decorated portion is visible in front of the raised portion when viewed from the front of the other ear. Thus a pair of such earrings is convertible to a more decorated pair of earrings by simply switching each earring from one ear to the other. The raised portion may be a step, an outwardly curved surface or a wall. Or the surface of the earring body may have a decorated raised portion and an adjacent but hidden differently decorated portion so the earring is convertible to a differently decorated earring by switching the earring from one ear to the other.
