Abstract: Novel 2-substituted-aminomethyl-1,4-benzodiazepines which have been found to be antagonists of the function of cholecystokinins (CCK), to the preparation of these compounds, and to the use of these compounds to antagonize the function of CCK, which antagonism is useful, e.g., for the treatment and prevention of disorders of the gastrointestinal, central nervous and appetite regulatory systems of mammals, especially of humans.
Abstract: The present application discloses an improved filter assembly used in a dry powder filling machine in which the bottom of the cylindrical measuring cavity for the powder being measured is formed by the improved filter assembly having a cup shaped recess wherein the floor of the recess contains evenly spaced and relatively small apertures. The aperture-containing floor is backed by a screen which allows vacuum to be applied to draw powder into the cavity but which prevents passage of the powder through the screen while the cavity is being filled. Application of gas pressure to the underside of the floor of the cavity expels the measured powder into a container as a discrete slug with relatively little separation.
Abstract: Novel substituted .alpha.-fluoromethyl-.alpha.-amino alkanoic acids and esters thereof are disclosed. The novel compounds have biological activity including decarboxylase inhibition.
Abstract: A process for preparing the compound having Formula I and several minor related compounds. ##STR1## The compound of Formula I and the several minor related compounds are antagonists of cholecystokinin (CCK). CCK antagonists are useful in the treatment and prevention of disorders of the gastrointestinal, central nervous and appetite regulatory systems of animals, especially humans.

Abstract: A method of antagonizing the function of cholecystokinins in a disease state in mammals, especially in humans, which comprises administering a pharmaceutically-effective amount of certain 2-acylaminomethyl-1,4-benzodiazepine derivatives or their salts, alone or with a pharmaceutical carrier, with or without an adjuvant.
Abstract: Process for the preparation of difficidin and derivative antibacterial compounds of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.a and R.sub.b are members independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen; alkali metal and alkaline earth metal cations; ammonium; and substituted ammonium; and R.sup.1 is hydrogen or hydroxy.
