  • Patent number: 5178581
Abstract: A smoke evacuation system for a building made of modular units includes sets of modular units disposed to each other and joined by a wall so as to allow a space between the modular units to define an air intake chamber. Each modular unit has a window which communicates with an air intake chamber. Each air intake chamber has an opening with an air intake fan. Each modular unit includes a chase with a window for exhausting air from the modular unit. The chases of the modular units are situated one to another so as to allow a continuous flow of air therethrough. A roof covers all of the modular units and air intake chambers, but has openings for the respective chases. Exhaust fans are mounted in said roof openings for exhausting air and smoke from said modular units. A smoke detector is installed in each chase to detect smoke in each corresponding modular unit and chase.

Abstract: A molding machine for casting a product is disclosed in a preferred embodiment of the invention. The molding machine includes a stationary support system and a rotatable apparatus, an opening and a horizontal axis of rotation parallel to the opening. Rotational means rotate the rotatable apparatus 180 degrees from a load and unload position to a casting position. A hoisting means is fixed to the reverse side of the opening of the rotatable apparatus for raising or lowering a transporter coupled to the opening of said rotatable apparatus. The mold includes a configuration form, having a ring-shaped floor, which cooperates with exterior wall forming panels. The mold also includes an inner core assembly which cooperates with the configuration form and has corner forming panels, interior wall forming panels and a floor forming panel. The corner forming panels move against the configuration form and the floor forming panel angularly to the configuration form and the floor forming panel.

  • Patent number: 4890999
Abstract: A molding machine for casting a concrete product includes a stationary support system, a rotatable apparatus and a pair of bearings supporting the rotatable apparatus on the stationary support system. The rotatable apparatus rotates 180 degrees between an upward position and a downward position. The rotatable apparatus includes a mold having a configuration form, exterior wall-forming panel, interior wall-forming panels, and interior corner-forming panels, all of which hang from corresponding trolleys which ride on corresponding rails to form the walls of the concrete product when all of the panels are against the product's configuration form. Further included is a floor panel which cooperates with the interior wall-forming panels and the interior corner-forming panels and is supported thereon by an internal structure. The floor panel, the interior wall-forming panels, and interior corner-forming panels are positioned below the exterior wall-forming panels and spaced therefrom to contain the concrete therein.

  • Patent number: 4715279
Abstract: A Supplementary Liquid Dispensing Device is disclosed. The Supplementary Liquid Dispensing Device is particularly useful in lithographic printing presses and in particular for dampening systems within such presses. The device dispenses from an enclosed source of a given liquid a continuous flow of the given liquid which is part of a fountain solution of the dampening system by metering the continuous flow of liquid proportionate to the rate of evaporization of the liquid in a fountain solution with very minimal evaporization loss of the liquid by the device. The device reduces air polution particularly when a volitile liquid such as alcohol is a part of the fountain solution. The device also has the advantage of supplementing and replacing alcohol in a fountain solution in a very inexpensive way without the use of a highly sophisticated and complex electronic system.

  • Patent number: 4646708
Abstract: An improved archery bow wherein draw force let off and continuous concurrent storing of energy is achieved by articulate bow limbs jointed at pivotal joints between energy storing resilient spring portions and shiftable bow tip-portions each having bow tips engaging the bowstring. The bow tips are shiftable about the pivotal joints through forward, neutral and rearward positions. Tendon cables coact with the bow tips resilient spring portions, and the bowstring for yieldingly spring biasing the bowstring and bow tips in the forward position and the bowstring in a rest position. The bowstring and tendon cables are coupled diametrically opposite each other at the bow tips so that forces acting through the tendon cables and the bowstring are resolved or split into force components.

  • Patent number: 4606527
Abstract: For raising and lowering theatre scenery there is a horizontal track in the fly loft of the theatre, and several carriages, slidable along the track, are shiftable to any desired positions along the track, positions being chosen in accordance with possibly uneven or non-uniform weight distribution in the scenery to be handled. A series of cables, one for each carriage, runs from a common winding drum to one end of the track and then to an anchorage at the opposite end of the track. Each cable runs over two pulleys of its own individual carriage, and forms a downwardly extending loop between these two pulleys. A pulley block rides on each loop. All the pulley blocks are ordinarily connected to a scenery batten, from which the scenery is hung, but when specially required, individual pulley blocks may be used separately.

  • Patent number: 4493538
Abstract: A lateral view extender device for Homonymous Hemianopsia is disclosed. The device is particularly useful with eyeglasses having a pair of lenses and a nose bridge separating the pair of lenses. The device includes a dichroic half lens having the combined optical properties of a reflector and a see through lens and means for fixing the dichroic half lens to the nose bridge of the eyeglasses in optical registry with one lens of the pair of lenses for providing at least one optical path through the one lens of the pair of lenses and the dichroic half lens and at least one other optical path over the dichroic half lens. The dichroic lens forms an interior angle with the one lens of the pair of lenses for providing mirror images on the dichroic lens within the one optical path thereby extending the lateral view of a person suffering from Homonymous Hemianopsia proportionally to the interior angle formed between the dichroic lens and the one lens of the pair of lenses.

  • Patent number: 4437698
Abstract: A fuel saving device for increasing the fuel mileage of a moving vehicle is disclosed. The number of miles per gallon of fuel is increased by the present invention through a device mounted on top of a vehicle, which device includes a housing having a length substantially equal to the width of the vehicle, an air intake at the front of the housing and a motor driven rotor having blades which are further driven by the oncoming wind pressure created by the moving vehicle. The device also includes means for deflecting the air from the housing over the remaining portion of the vehicle and positioned in cooperative relationship with the rotor to not only reduce air friction but also to create a propulsion of air at the rear of the housing to drive the vehicle forward. A motor means drives the rotor independently of the forward speed of the moving vehicle.
