Abstract: Method for the extraction of the metallic phase from dispersed mixtures of light metals and nonmetallic components. The invention pertains to an advantageous method for the extraction of the metallic phase from a dispersed mixture comprised of at least one light metal and at least one nonmetallic phase and, if applicable, at least the partial separation of the nonmetallic phase. The temperature of the dispersed mixture is raised to a temperature in the region above the melting temperature of the metal or alloy; the heated mixture is then inserted into an apparatus, subjected to an acceleration, and disintegrated, with the metallic phase thereafter being coalesced, collected and allowed to proceed to solidification.
Abstract: A strobe control apparatus for a strobe-incorporated camera. A light emitter is supported in a camera body by a supporting mechanism so as to move between a retracted position and an operative position. A drive mechanism moves the light emitter between the retracted position and the operative position. A light emitter controller drives the drive mechanism to move the light emitter to the operative position, and an emission controller controls the strobe to emit strobe light when the light emitter is in the operative position.
Abstract: A switching arrangement for activating a plurality of electrical devices connected to a communication line. The switching arrangement monitors the communication line for the reception of activation signals, and also transmits activation signals to the communication line. The switching arrangement activates an electrical device (from the plurality of electrical devices) connected to the communication line, in response to the detection of the an activation signal, to shift the electrical device from a dormant state (in which electrical consumption by the electrical device is minimized) to a normal, functional operational state (in which a maximum electrical consumption of the electrical device occurs) only when the electrical device is actually being operated. By switching the electrical device between a dormant state and an operational state, the amount of electrical power required to operate the plurality of electrical devices is reduced.

The accessory is provided with at least one roller which is rotatably supported by a shaft extending parallel to an optical axis of the lens barrel. At least one abutting surface is provided on the front end of the lens barrel, and comes into contact with the roller or rollers of the accessory during rotation of the accessory while in contact with the lens barrel.
Abstract: A modular signal device which fills the need of the elevator industry for differing types of signal devices wherein a surface mounted base plate includes turned up small ends, with a cover ring surrounding the base plate and utilizing a bolt at one small end and an adjusting screw on the other small end to rearwardly retain the turned up ends, with the cover ring including an inner collar which carries and retains a cover plate, with the cover plate including at least one opening and concentrically arranged second threaded bolts in order to receive switching elements such a push buttons, with first threaded bolts serving to attach the cover plate onto the collar of the cover ring. In further embodiments, the cover plate takes the form of lenses with filters, grids or arrow masks which serve to outwardly convey the signals produced by the signal devices attached to the collar.
Abstract: The present invention provides a flow control valve which makes it possible to prevent the leakage of hydraulic fluid when the valve is closed while continuously controlling the flow rate. An axially slidable piston (12) housed in a housing (11) provided with a first port (13) and second port (16) is urged by an electromagnet (20). A first closing valve (14) for connecting and isolating the first port (13) and first fluid chamber (A), with a valve seat portion (14C) opened opposite one end portion of the piston (12) in the first fluid chamber (A) and a valve body (14B) which is seated in and separated from the valve seat portion in accordance with the axial displacement of the piston (12), is provided between the first port (13) and the first fluid chamber (A). An orifice (15) is provided in the conduit connecting the first fluid chamber (A) and the second fluid chamber (B).
Abstract: An image stabilizing apparatus is disclosed comprising an imaging optical system for forming an image of a subject onto an imaging surface. A deflector has first and second liquid prisms disposed with a movable transparent plate therebetween, and a controller changes vertex angles of the respective prisms by inclining the movable transparent plate in order to correct for a displacement of the image on the imaging surface.
Abstract: An optical scanning device emits a scanning laser beam which scans a photoconductive material, and a detection device located upstream with respect to the scanning direction of the laser beam. The laser beam is first emitted to scan the detection device, and the reception of the laser beam is detected by the detection device. The emission of the laser beam is terminated as soon as the detection device first detects the reception of the laser beam. A scanning laser beam modulated with image information is then emitted to scan the photoconductive material.
Abstract: Temperature indicator for refrigerated products operating on the principal of solidification and melting of liquid bodies at room temperature is provided with a transparent envelope containing a capsule filled with an aqueous solution which is liquid at room temperature. The capsule includes a fracture point causing it to split into two parts due to solidification of the solution, and further includes a compressed spring positioned so that when the capsule is fractured, the spring remains compressed as long as the solution is in the solid state, and visibly and irreversibly separates the two parts of the capsule if the solution turns to a liquid. The monitoring device serves to verify that the temperature is maintained either between two limits or below or above a critical temperature.
Abstract: Display rack for shelves comprising a base designed to constitute a storage plane for objects of various widths. The base is composed of a plurality of juxtaposed elements and at least one sliding rim. Each of the juxtaposed elements comprises a first edge and a second edge formed in such a way that they can accommodate the sliding rim.
Abstract: Combing machine. The combing machine includes a process control computer for the preparatory machine of a textile spinning mill, the former being located upstream of a combing machine which reacts to signals from the combing machine, which signals are representative both of the evenness of feed material supplied to a controlled drafting arrangement as well as of the comber waste share, with the computer producing a signal which is indicative of a change in the evenness behavior of the machines located upstream of the combing machine when the evenness of the feed material changes while the comber waste share remains unchanged. A method for operating the combing machine is also set forth.
Abstract: The invention concerns a ski for gliding on the snow. The ski includes a longitudinal beam whose front end is turned up to form the shovel. The ski has a box structure on a portion of its length, and a sandwich structure on its remaining length. Preferably, the ski has a box structure at least in its median zone of the middle sole, and a sandwich structure at least in one of the front or rear zones.
Abstract: A camera having a mechanism for varying a picture image includes, an aperture frame which defines an aperture corresponding to the image area, and a pair of light intercepting plates which are rotatably supported by respective shafts on opposite sides of the aperture. The pair of light intercepting plates move between an operative position, in which the light intercepting plates partly cover the aperture, and a retracted position, in which the light intercepting plates are retracted from the aperture. The operative position corresponds to a small image area, and the retracted position corresponds to a large image area. The camera further includes an associating rod member, which is provided in the vicinity of one end of the shafts of the light intercepting plates and movable in a direction substantially perpendicular to the shafts, and an actuating member, which rotates the light intercepting plates in association with the movement of the rod member.
