  • Patent number: 4754255
Abstract: A vehicle control and/or access control and/or anti-theft system for motor vehicles including data entry apparatus designed to enter a predetermined signal, a decoder for processing the signal, apparatus to recognize which one of a plurality of valid signals was entered, and apparatus to control vehicle electrical functions in response to which valid signal was recognized. In the anti-theft system, operation of the vehicle is disabled by interrupting an essential vehicle circuit, and a method is provided together with the decoder for preventing the operation of the vehicle disabling system so that when the operator enters his specific signal the automobile can then be started and operated. In addition, the system monitors all points of entry into the vehicle, and also monitors various sensors for unusual disturbances. The system sounds a siren alarm and/or flashes the vehicle's interior lights, parking lights, and/or headlights, in the event of unauthorized entry or unusual disturbance.

  • Patent number: 4748937
Abstract: This invention relates to a leash which coils up automatically when the handle is released. The invention comprises a generally cylindrical center portion with handles on either side, which is manufactured in two parts and can be assembled easily. The two parts are then sonically sealed to provide a strong and secure body. A retractable spring is fixedly attached inside in such a manner that it easily pulls out and retracts without catching or snagging.

  • Patent number: 4573720
Abstract: The failsafe security lock system of this invention utilizes a fire rated latch bolt, which is retracted by knobs, levers or exit devices from either side of the door. The failsafe security system comprises the use of the magnetic lock or similar device which is controlled from the inside of the door by a knob, lever or exit device. The magnetic lock is controlled by use of the magnetic switch mounted in the door jamb and an internal bar magnet in the lock mounted in the door. When the inside knob, lever or exit device is activated the latch bolt is retracted and the internal magnet is removed from the magnetic switch and power is cut off from the magnetic lock, unlocking the door. To open the door from the outside power has to be cut to the magnetic lock. This is accomplished by use of a key which would remove the internal magnet from the magnetic switch locking the door.

  • Patent number: 4531612
Abstract: The invention relates to a portable emergency fire escape ladder comprising a large double hook adapted to fit over a window ledge, tubular steps suspended by means of galvanized steel cables, the steps secured on the suspension cables by means of pressed steel rings. The tubular steps are slightly larger in diameter at one end than the other allowing the steps to join together to form a pole. There is a connecting rod under the double hook for the attachment of the top tubular step in the pole position. The double hook has a curvature at the lower end in order that the tubular steps may be spaced a distance from the wall to allow room for the person's foot. The double hook is provided with a pull cable which is strung through the frame of the double hook, to the end pieces, so that pulling on the cable will release the double hook from the window ledge allowing a person down the wall.

  • Patent number: 4522386
Abstract: The present invention relates to a paper feeding mechanism primarily for printing presses, or the like machines, comprising a left and right interlocking grill, which supports the stack of paper which is fed to the press. The adjustable grill rests on a center base support and the press side support pieces. The grill is adjustable in a horizontal direction depending on the width of the paper, in conjunction with the left and right hand paper pile support guides. The paper feeding mechanism also comprises an adjusting rear paper pile feeding guide adapted to press against the rear of the paper pile, holding it against the front feeder plate of the press. As the paper pile rises an inverted V-shaped feed guide gradually opens allowing the paper to keep rising until all sheets are fed into the press.

  • Patent number: 4449403
Abstract: This invention relates to a system for sensing the liquid level and coolant properties in a fluid containing vessel by insertion into the vessel of a plurality of matched spaced sensor probes comprising a first and second temperature sensor, the first sensor essentially measuring the media temperature, a heater, an arrangement for applying differential heat between the sensors, the heater and second sensors being thermally connected, all positioned to permit the sensing at the cooling quality of the media present, the heater located directly adjacent the second sensor and adjusted so that when the cooling quality of the normal fluid is sensed the heat generated by the heater and passing into the fluid is virtually completely dissipated and only a small finite differential temperature exists between the sensors and thereby indicates a sub-cooled liquid is present.
