  • Patent number: 4578943
Abstract: A hydraulic engine which uses liquid fluid as the working medium consists of a housing structure, a liquid fluid inlet passage, a fluid outlet passage, a liquid fluid pump, a fluid actuator, coupling means connecting the two, fluid flow diffusing means, a combustion chamber, an energy exchange zone, a fuel and air supply means, a combustion ignition means, a power takeoff actuator means, a power takeoff means, and a fluid separating means. Liquid fluid enters the engine inlet where it travels to the energy exchange zone. Here exhausted combustion product in the form of a gaseous fluid is introduced into the liquid fluid where it is combined. The mixture is exhausted through the outlet passage of the engine in the form of a liquid fluid-gaseous fluid stream. Upon entering the outlet passage, the mixture is directed to a fluid separating chamber where the working liquid fluid of the engine is separated from the gaseous combustion product.

  • Patent number: 4576603
Abstract: A feeding device for the enteral introduction of nourishment to a human patient which device is comprised of three sheets of inextensible material sealed together to form four independent compartments. The top two compartments which are larger form a reservoir for the feeding solution and a container for coolant in order to preserve the feeding solution over extended periods of time. A tube leading from the reservoir travels through a four way valve wherein the solution is directed to either of two feeding chambers which have a common dividing wall formed by the dividing sheet of material. The dividing wall is flaccid so as to be able to contact and conform to either of the outer sheets. The four way valve serves to alternate the flow of solution from the reservoir to one of the chambers while opening the flow from the other chamber to the patient.

  • Patent number: 4569849
Abstract: A process for preparing precooked lasagna in which the ingredients are mixed and then extruded to form at least two uncooked strips of pasta. After passing the strips through the cooker, they are deposited into a cooling tank where they are allowed to accumulate. A separator and guide means aligns the noodles on top of one another as they pass out of the cooling tank. The noodles are then passed above and below the nozzle where a filler material is deposited between the strips. The strips are then cut for packaging.

  • Patent number: 4543089
Abstract: A gastrointestinal feeding and aspirating device and method for use in treating patients. The device comprises an aspirating lumen, a feeding lumen, and an inflation lumen. When properly disposed within the patient's body, orifices in the aspirating lumen are positioned within the stomach and the proximal segment of the small bowel. The orifice in the feeding lumen opens at a site which is also in the proximal segment of the small bowel, but is further downstream than the aspirating orifices. The inflation lumen communicates with a balloon which is inflated after the insertion of the device in order to help maintain the device in its proper position. In an alternate embodiment of the invention, a fourth lumen is added for the sole purpose of aspirating the stomach.
