  • Patent number: 8352442
Abstract: A method and system for determining an updated data source from first and second disparate data sources. A first and second data list is received from the first and second data sources, respectively. The data elements in the first data list matching data elements in the second data list are written to a first aggregation data list. The data elements in the first data list not matching data elements in the second data list are written to an additions data list. The data elements in the second data list not matching data elements in the first data list are written to a first deletions data list. All data elements in the first aggregation data list and the additions data list are written into a second aggregation data list. All data elements matching the data elements in the first deletions data list are written into a second deletions data list.

  • Patent number: 8352491
Abstract: A system and associated method for searching a web service registry system by use of a search module. A first embodiment of the search module has a search controller, a name parser, a dictionary, and a name composer. The first embodiment of the search module automatically searches a service registry program product with a service name through a first application programming interface (API). If a service description matching the service name does not exist within the service registry program product, then the first embodiment of the search module generates a candidate service name within the search module. A second embodiment of the search module consists of the search controller, the name parser, and the name composer. The second embodiment utilizes a separate dictionary program product through a second API in generating the candidate service name for a second search of the service registry program product.

  • Patent number: 8352175
Abstract: A method and system for generating optimal itineraries based on network connectivity. A computer receives a first message from which a current position of a vehicle on a trip, destination, service(s) being provided to mobile device(s) in the vehicle, service provider(s) and network(s) are extracted. Optimal itineraries are generated by generating sets of optimal parameters that include paths for which connectivity measures satisfy predefined criteria and hops that indicate positions associated with connectivity changes. A response to the first message indicates the optimal itineraries and the associated sets of optimal parameters and is sent to a vehicle-based device. Sending the response results in the mobile device(s) making the connectivity changes when the vehicle is detected at the hops.

  • Patent number: 8353037
Abstract: A method and system for mitigating a propagation of a file that includes malicious code. Segments of the file are determined by a series of sizes determined by a function ƒ. Signatures identifying segments of the file are determined by applying a hash function to each segment. A complete match between the file and a malicious file is determined by determining a first match between signature(s) identifying a first set of segment(s) of the file and signature(s) identifying corresponding segment(s) of the malicious file and by determining a second match between a signature identifying a final segment of the file and a signature identifying a last segment of the malicious file. Responsive to determining the complete match, the file is identified as the malicious file and a transfer of the final segment of the file is interdicted.

  • Patent number: 8346967
Abstract: A method and system for managing redirection for use with a system. The system includes a first webpage and a second webpage. The first webpage is operable to redirect a browser to the second webpage and subsequently, the second webpage is operable to redirect the browser to the first webpage by using a first pre-determined identifier associated with the first webpage. A second identifier associated with a component of the first webpage is assigned. In response to the second webpage redirecting the browser to the first webpage by using the first pre-determined identifier, the first pre-determined identifier is compared against the second identifier to determine whether the second identifier is different from the first pre-determined identifier. In response to a determination that the second identifier is different from the first pre-determined identifier, the browser is redirected to the component of the first webpage by using the second identifier.

  • Patent number: 8346833
Abstract: A filter and method of filtering modifies the computation order to accommodate horizontal symmetric filtering, and modifies the source operands while modifying the single instruction multiple data (SIMD) computation, so as to eliminate such heavy overhead of transposing a pixel matrix. The filter and method of filtering reformats the equations involved in the prior art to the following equations, thereby acquiring the interpolation results by reducing the required clock cycles to three cycles: acc=a0*(|p0+p5|p1+p6|p2+p7|p3+p8|) acc=a1*(|p1+p4|p2+p5|p3+p6|p4+p7|)+acc acc=a2*(|P2+P3|P3+P4|P4+P5|P5+P6|)+acc.

Abstract: A method of forming and electrical structure. The method includes determining that a first semiconductor device requires an engineering change order (ECO). An additional structure layer required to implement the ECO is determined. A first insertion point location for inserting the additional structure layer within the first semiconductor device is selected. The first insertion point location is associated with a second insertion point location within a design for a second semiconductor device. The second semiconductor device is generated in accordance with the first ECO. The second semiconductor device comprises second structures. The second structures comprise same structures as first structures in the first semiconductor device. The second structures are formed in locations within the second semiconductor device that are associated with locations in the first semiconductor device comprising the first structures.

  • Patent number: 8341442
Abstract: A modification method and system. The method includes detecting and monitoring by a computing system, a frequency signal associated with an input voltage signal used for powering a plurality of power consumption devices at a specified location. The computing system compares the frequency signal to a predetermined frequency value. The computing system determines that the frequency signal comprises a first value that is not equal to the predetermined frequency value. The computing system calculates a difference value between the first value and the predetermined frequency value. The computing system compares the difference value to a second value. The computing system enables a load adjustment modification process associated with the plurality of power consumption devices. The computing system generates and stores a report associated with the load adjustment modification process.

  • Patent number: 8335714
Abstract: A method and system for identifying users for advertising. Users, attributes, and first web sites provided by ISPs accessed by the users are identified. First data including content of the first web sites and user time spent thereon are received from ISPs and analyzed to determine first attribute values indicative of user interest. Second data received from ISPs include content of second web sites and user time spent thereon. Second attribute values, derived from questionnaires completed by the users, indicate interest in each attribute by each user. Third attribute values are determined by combining the first and second attribute values. The third attribute values are processed to identify users to which a product or service may be advertised. The identified users are communicated to a service provider or product provider. The first, second, or third attribute values may have missing values, which are determined by correlation and linear regression.
