  • Patent number: 7847938
Abstract: An alignment system for optical lithography uses cameras fixed to a movable stage and to a lithography unit to view unique microscopic non-uniformities that are inherent to the surface of a work piece, e.g., metal or ceramic microcrystalline grains, for position referencing. Stage cameras image two sites on the work piece through windows in the stage to establish original position templates. After the work piece has been repositioned, e.g., reversed topside-down, the same two sites are again viewed and template matching establishes the transformed coordinates of the work piece, e.g. by a lithography unit camera under which the stage moves to approximate site locations. Two corner cameras can serve as a coarse positioning mechanism. The alignment system is particular useful for backside alignment in printed circuit board lithography.

  • Patent number: 7838793
Abstract: A system (10) for coating surfaces of a workpiece (12) comprises a biasing system (242) for connection to said workpiece (12) and an anode (76) such as to negatively bias the workpiece relative to the anode and a vacuum source (42, 44) for evacuating an interior of the workpiece (12). A gas supply (224, 226, 228) is employed for introducing a gas containing a treatment material to said workpiece and a control system (244) controls the biasing system (242), the vacuum source (42, 44) and the gas supply (224, 226, 228) so as to establish a hollow cathode effect within the workpiece (12). A pair of coupling heads (16, 18) are supported on articulated arms (22, 24, 26) movable in one or more of three axes and include removable shields (78) to protect the heads (16, 18) and an anode mount (74) for receiving an anode (76). The articulated arms allow the system to accommodate a plurality of different shaped and different sized workpieces while the shields protect the coupling heads during a deposition process.

  • Patent number: 7837210
Abstract: A drive mechanism for a lever propulsion wheelchair includes at least one clutch and at least one gear set contained within a central hub housing operatively coupled to the drive surface of the main wheel being driven. In the preferred embodiment, there are additional clutches and gear sets contained within the hub housing and coaxial to the wheel. By locating the transmission components within the hub housing and providing the coaxial arrangement, various user capabilities may be enabled without a significant increase in wheelchair width, as compared to the width of conventional pushrim propulsion wheelchairs. Transmission components are cooperatively arranged to provide capabilities that may include forward, rearward and neutral “gears,” braking, anti-rollback, and quick-release removal.

  • Patent number: 7824777
Abstract: “Corrosion” performance of an optical filter is enhanced when a relatively thick zinc-based film functions as a seed layer for a subsequently formed silver-based film. At least two pairs of dielectric and metallic layers are included within the optical filter, where the zinc-based film is a second film of the dielectric layer and where the silver-based film is the metallic layer. The zinc-based film has a zinc content of at least 80 percent and has a thickness of at least 15 nm. In order to further improve the corrosion performance, gold may be incorporated into the silver-based film.

  • Patent number: 7783597
Abstract: The present invention is an adaptive method for filtering spam by using the reputations associated with recipients of email messages to determine the reputations of message and content attributes, then using the attribute reputations to determine whether or not the email message is spam and then using the determination of spam to update the reputations associated with the recipients of the email message. The present invention can also be used in conjunction with existing spam algorithms. Optionally, training of existing spam algorithms may be implemented by the use of recipient reputations or training types derived from recipient reputations.

  • Patent number: 7781573
Abstract: Methods using two to (n) purification columns to separate full length 5?-DMT-on oligonucleotides with size ranging from 40 to 180-mers from short length 5?-DMT-on oligonucleotides. Two of the said methods require using some columns sequentially with the collection and reprocessing of an intermediate fraction and are used for oligonucleotides with length ranging from 70 to 180-mers. A third method is carried out with columns stacked and used in series and is best used to purify oligonucleotides with length ranging from 40 to 80-mers. In the presence of a high ionic strength buffer, the short length DMT-on oligonucleotides bind to the top stacked columns while the less hydrophobic contaminant or DMT-off failures do not bind and/or are being washed off. In a stacked configuration, the full length DMT-on oligonucleotides are retained by the bottom column while in a 15 sequential configuration, full length DMT-on oligonucleotides are collected and reprocessed.

  • Patent number: 7775690
Abstract: A light weight reflector structure for an axial UV lamp wherein a shell-like channel housing supporting spaced apart ribs that in turn support flexed reflective spars that take the shape of the ribs. A preferred shape for the ribs and spars is parabolic about the axial UV lamp so that a beam is formed and directed out of the channel housing. The spars have a gap partially blocked by a deflector spar for creating a tortuous path for air forced direct into a tunnel between the channel housing and the spars. Forced air swirls through the gap and cools both the lamp and the spars.

  • Patent number: 7752692
Abstract: A baby changing apparatus in a pillow is disclosed. A flexible pad unfolds lengthwise from a pocket. The pad has a plurality of parallel, joined folding sections. A pillow-forming section is one of the sections, at a first end of the pad. The pillow-forming section has fabric defining the pocket. The pillow-forming section may be openable towards an opposing second end of the pad. A stowage section is one of the sections. The stowage section has a first storage volume. The stowage section may have a second storage volume. The opened pillow-forming section may receive the remaining folded sections folded and inserted to form the pillow. The pad may fold such that the pillow-forming section receives the remaining or residual folding sections tucked into the pocket to form the pillow. The folding sections may include a first middle section, and may include an adjacent second middle section.

  • Patent number: 7739801
Abstract: An undercut saw including a housing, a motor within said housing, a drive shaft rotated by said motor, and a blade mount mechanically linked to said shaft such that a circular saw blade mounted on said mount is rotated when the motor rotates the drive shaft. A fixed blade guard circumscribes a portion of the blade and allows selectable height adjustment of the blade. A stabilization bar on the fixed blade guard may be extended to make the device more stable. On the underside of the fixed blade guard a dust channel allows dust to be swept by the rotating blade into a dust port. The dust channel allows positioning of the dust port away from the leading edges of the fixed blade guard.

  • Patent number: 7736108
Abstract: An anchor assembly having a nut which is pivotably connected to a sleeve which is slideable along a rod housing. The nut is pivotable to and from a position in vertical alignment with rod housing and a position perpendicular to the rod housing in which a threaded nut opening is in vertical alignment with a opening of the rod housing. A flange is disposed above the rod housing and a stop washer is disposed above the flange, the rod insertable within both the flange and washer. The threaded rod is insertable through the rod opening of the rod housing and threadable within the threaded opening of the nut when the nut is in a position perpendicular to the rod housing. When the nut of the anchor assembly is positioned into vertical alignment with the rod housing, the assembly can fit into a narrow hole. Once the nut clears the opening, the nut moves into the position perpendicular to the rod housing so that the rod may be threaded through the nut opening.
