Abstract: A process and system for recovery and recycling of hard rock core forming aggregate used in the slip forming of elongated hollow-cored concrete planks using wash water to remove slurry and a rotating screen to remove the water from the aggregate with collection and conveying means for the aggregate.
Abstract: An improved body implantable electrical stimulator assembly of the type having interconnected electrical components housed within a preformed enclosure. A cup is provided in which the components may be finally assembled, the cup being configured to fit within the enclosure. Preferably, the enclosure is formed of a plurality of members at least one of which has a main wall and a side wall joined at a radius. The cup is similarly formed of a main wall and a side wall, the main wall being generally coextensive with at least a major portion of the enclosure member main wall. The cup may engage the enclosure in a manner such that its movement within the enclosure is limited. Movement of the components within the cup may also be restrained. A cover for the cup may also be provided.
Abstract: A foundry sand mixer for mixing and dispensing silica or green sand and their additives through the enclosed longitudinal belt conveyor mechanism having a plurality of openings in the top communicating with a first feeder disposed above the enclosed longitudinal belt conveyor mechanism and including a pair of openings in the bottom. The first feeder includes an auger-type conveyor and a sand weir communicating with the most upstream opening in the first feeder. A first hopper for containing silica sand and a second hopper for containing green sand are disposed over the first feeder. A selective valve is disposed at the bottom of each of the first and second hoppers permitting the flow of sand through only one of the hoppers at any time or preventing the flow of any sand from the hoppers.
Abstract: This invention relates to electrical key-like devices, to electrical receptacles for use in combination therewith and to electronic circuitry systems, such as computers and other operating circuits, that interface with the key-like devices through the receptacle. The keys contain a microelectronic circuit element, eg., a microelectronic circuit chip or die, having an electrical lead or leads exposed along the length of the key for contacting electrical leads in the receptacle when the key is inserted therein and rotated to a "locked" position. The keys are particularly designed to interface with a processor and program memory system, that is, a computer.
Abstract: An airborne dust monitor. Photosensitive elements detect a predetermined airborne dust level at a test region adjacent the photosensitive elements. The photosensitive elements are housed within a flue which shields the test region from ambient light while it conducts ambient air through the test region. In a preferred embodiment, the flue is formed of generally vertical sidewall members which define an ambient air passage through the test region, air passage outlets positioned above the test region and a baffle generally at the inlet of the air passage for allowing the entry of ambient air to the passage while blocking light from the test region. A test system may be provided by which a member is selectively positionable within the test region. Preferably, the photosensitive detecting elements include a radiant energy source and an element responsive to that radiant energy, most preferably infrared energy, the photosensitive elements being positioned to minimize dust settlement on the acting portions thereof.
Abstract: A system for positioning a ring electrode at a desired location on, and in electrical communication with, the outer, braided conductor of a coaxial body implantable electrical stimulation lead. The outer insulation is stripped from the desired electrode location to one end of the lead to expose the braided conductor. The exposed braided conductor is pushed back from the one lead end to expose that end and at least a portion of the exposed lead end is severed. The braided conductor is then repositioned so as to extend past the previously exposed lead end with the extending portion of the braided conductor being wrapped about itself to form a twist. The twist preferably comes to a point but, in any event, has a diameter smaller than the remainder of the braided conductor so as to be easily threaded through a ring electrode having an inside diameter generally identical to the outside diameter of the braided conductor.
Abstract: An improved spoil handling conveyor for well boring rigs wherein the conveyor working surface comprises a plurality of endless belts arranged side-by-side to allow the separation of spoil from drilling fluid by drainage therebetween.
Abstract: A forage stack moving device has a tongue and bed mechanism rigidly secured to each other in which a plurality of endless chain elements pass over a plurality of longitudinal beam members and are driven by a mechanism driving all chains in unison while loading and unloading a stack. The bed mechanism is supported by a pair of fourbar linkages, each having a pair of substantially vertically extending arms pivotally joined to a longitudinally extending carriage member to which are secured a pair of wheels, each longitudinally extending member having a hydraulically controlled extensible member connected to the bed mechanism to move the carriage member and the wheels secured thereto, causing the bed mechanism to tilt for loading and unloading and to be substantially level during transportation of any forage stack on the bed mechanism.
Abstract: A readily retractable sonar sensor system having a sensor carried by a rod slidably mounted in a sleeve which is located in spaced relation to the axis of rotation of a disc upon which the sleeve is fixedly supported, the latter extending normally to the radius of the disc. The disc is pivotally mounted on a plate which is supported by a C-clamp connected to its peripheral portion and mounted on a boat transom. Spring means surrounding the pivot pin urges the disc and plate together, causing matching projections on the disc to extend into openings in the plate to releasably control relative rotation therebetween, so that when the rod is swung to generally horizontal orientation, the sensor swings rearwardly and upwardly out of the water.
Abstract: A shelter truss comprising a unitary trapezoidal skeletal component, a plurality of which when connected forms a completely framed superstructure of a building, ready to accept exterior covering, wiring, plumbing, insulation, flooring, interior walls, ceilings and the like. No additional structural framework is required, except interior room division. The building shape in a vertical plane is complete when the component is erected.
Abstract: A fireplace grate comprising a support for holding burning logs and the accompanying hot embers and ashes and including heat transfer structure for transferring heat generated by the logs and embers to the area immediately therebelow. The grate further includes air passageways located in the area below the support. The passageways having air outlets at the front of the grate for directing air into the room in which the fireplace is located and air inlets disposed at location remote from the air outlets for receiving air for passage through the passageways.
