  • Patent number: 4459053
Abstract: The printer comprises a solid or liquid ink jet head 100 arranged to print one dot at a time on paper running over a platen 80. The head is carried by a carriage 48 movable transversely with simple harmonic reciprocating motion. In order to reduce the effect of inertial forces when the carriage reverses its movement, the drive is effected by an eccentric peg 70 on a disc 276, the peg engaging in a guide slot 54 of the carriage perpendicular to the direction of reciprocation. An eccentric can track 71 in the disc engages a peg 92 on a counterweight 90 for counterbalancing the inertial forces of the carriage. In order to synchronize the printing operation with the carriage movement, an optical strobe disco 258 is rigid with the disc 276 and has slots 258 disposed at a pitch varying according to the harmonic motion. The platen 80 in rotated intermittently by a helical cam 277 carried by the disc 276 and a peg wheel 280, 281.

  • Patent number: 4444549
Abstract: A refrigerant compressor having pistons reciprocated in respective cylinders by a wobble plate driven by an input rotor which is secured on a drive shaft, in which improved refrigerant gas flow within the housing is achieved. A balance hole is provided for returning the blow-by gas, which is leaked from the cylinders through the gaps between the cylinders and pistons to the crank chamber, to the compressor suction chamber from the crank chamber. The balance hole comprises a first fluid passageway formed in a front end plate and a second fluid passageway connected between the first fluid passageway and the suction chamber. One end of the first fluid passageway opens into a hollow portion formed on a axial end surface of the input rotor. The rotor is formed with at least one opening at its outer peripheral surface which communicates between the crank chamber and the hollow portion.

  • Patent number: 4439797
Abstract: A recording and reproducing system which uses a recording medium having a plurality of information recording tracks for recording image information. And at least one index recording track is located on the recording medium for recording index information. The index recording track is located substantially at the center of the recording medium and extends length wise of the recording medium in the direction of movement of this recording medium. • Patent number: 4437820
Abstract: In a scroll type fluid compressor having an orbiting scroll member and a fixed scroll member which form at least one pair of outer fluid pockets and a central pocket therebetween for fluid compression, the axial end surfaces of each spiral element of the scroll members have a groove along the spiral curve. At least one closed portion is located along the groove to block fluid flow in the groove. A seal element is loosely fitted in the groove. During operation the compressed fluid flows into the groove to urge the seal element against the end plate of the opposite scroll member so that the axial sealing between the spiral element and the end plate is assured without leakage of fluid along the groove. Also, the closed portion is located along the spiral element at the location where the line contact point where the outer fluid pockets and the central pocket merge to prevent back pressure changes from causing excessive wear of the seal element.

  • Patent number: 4434324
Abstract: The system comprises at least one teleprinter station (1) connected to an exchange (3) by means of a transmission-reception line (2) and comprising a polarity detector (31) for the line circulating current, and a device (30) for reversing the connection of the line wires. If the wires erroneously become reversely connected following maintenance work on a line of single current type, then false call and conversation signals are generated which automatically trigger a checking operation in which the polarity detector is suitably examined under control of a ROM routine E controlling a CPU 84. If the current is found to be the reverse of the correct current, the reversing device is operated in order to reverse the polarity of the connection. In contrast, in the case of a double current line, the reversing device is operated when current is absent in the reception line, thus indicating an erroneous line connection. If the line current interruption is prolonged, a warning device (28) is activated.
