  • Patent number: 8125382
Abstract: A method of predicting a location of a satellite is provided wherein the GPS device, based on previously received information about the position of a satellite, such as an ephemeris, generates a correction acceleration of the satellite that can be used to predict the position of the satellite outside of the time frame in which the previously received information was valid. The calculations can be performed entirely on the GPS device, and do not require assistance from a server. However, if assistance from a server is available to the GPS device, the assistance information can be used to increase the accuracy of the predicted position.

  • Patent number: 8126028
Abstract: Pre-aligned, kinematically mounted modules including processing lasers, beam trains, and individually calibrated control beams are quickly and easily replaced on subassembly bases with minimal in situ alignment, and can maintain working-spot position to micron tolerances over ambient temperature variations of ±10° C. Subassembly bases, with features for kinematically mating to a plurality of pre-aligned laser modules and to a platform base incorporated in the laser processing tool, enable multi-module subassemblies to be quickly replaced with spare subassemblies of the same type, or swapped for subassemblies of a different type. The mating features and reversible locks are designed to mitigate thermal effects that are often a dominant cause of alignment drift in processing lasers.

  • Patent number: 8127251
Abstract: A system and corresponding method for providing a 3-dimensional (3-D) user interface displays images in a 3-D coordinate system. The method includes receiving user data input information. The method also compares the user data input information to frequently used terms and generates priority information based on the comparison. The generated priority information is displayed as holographic images in a 3-D coordinate system. Sensors are configured to sense user interaction within the 3-D coordinate system, so that a processor may receive user interaction information including the selected priority information from the sensors. The sensors are able to provide information to the processor that enables the processor to correlate user interaction with images in the 3-D coordinate system. The system may be used for interconnecting or communicating between two or more components connected to an interconnection medium (e.g., a bus) within a single computer or digital data processing system.

  • Patent number: 8121057
Abstract: A system and method is described for establishing a homogenized communications infrastructure that enables a variety of disparate communication devices to communicate transparently with each other over a computer data network. The system and method allow for such communications to take place by converting all communications from all participants in the form of audio, video, textual, and binary data messages into discrete data units that are carried over a computer data network. These communications are propagated to other participants by relay to their particular devices in such a way that individual participants are insulated from the type and implementation of all other participants' devices.

  • Patent number: 8122413
Abstract: Logic blocks for IC designs (including gate-array, standard cell, or logic array designs) provide Design-for-Test-enabled flip-flops (DFT-enabled FFs) that inherently insure compliance with DFT rules associated with scan shifting. Test scan-chains are configured by daisy-chaining instances of the logic block in a transparent (invisible) manner to user-designed application circuits, which can be designed without any user-inserted test structures or other regard for DFT considerations. User asynchronous set and reset inputs and all Stuck-At faults on all user pins on these DFT-enabled FFs are observable via capture and scan-out. A first type of these DFT-enabled FFs features addressable control to partition test the application circuit. A second type of these DFT-enabled FFs features integral capture buffering that eliminates the need for partition test, simplifying control logic and reducing the number of test vectors needed.

  • Patent number: RE43187
Abstract: A method of measuring an analyte concentration in body fluid. The method includes the use of an analyte measuring device that has an analyte sensing element with a sharpened distal end and further has an indicating electrode covered by an absorbent layer. Also, an electric power, data processing and display device is adapted to mate to and activate the analyte sensing element by applying electric power to it and adapted to receive the raw analyte measurement and to compute and display a refined analyte measurement from the raw analyte measurement. The analyte sensing element is introduced into the animal body, thereby placing the absorbent layer into contact with the body fluid. The absorbent layer becomes saturated with body fluid and the analyte sensing element is removed from the body and is activated to form a raw analyte measurement. Which which is used to form and display a refined analyte measurement.

  • Patent number: RE43226
Abstract: An optical multiplexing device includes an optical element having at least one set of diffractive elements, and an optical reflector. The reflector routes, between first and second optical ports, that portion of an optical signal transmitted by the diffractive element set. The diffractive element set routes, between first and multiplexing optical ports, a portion of the optical signal that is diffracted by the diffractive element set. More complex optical multiplexing functionality(ies) may be achieved using additional sets of diffractive elements, in a common optical element (and possibly overlaid) or in separate optical elements with multiple reflectors. Separate multiplexing devices may be assembled with coupled ports for forming more complex devices. The respective portions of an optical signal transmitted by and reflected/diffracted from the diffractive element set typically differ spectrally.
