Abstract: Methods, systems, and articles to receive, by a fail-over computing device, a request to instantiate a virtual-machine in response to a virtual-machine failure on a separate physical device. The request includes a minimum security rating. The fail-over computing device then compares the minimum security rating against an assigned security rating of the fail-over computing device and instantiates the virtual-machine if the assigned security rating meets or exceeds the minimum security rating.
Abstract: A method of matching queries in a hybrid infrastructure/infrastructure-less network, the network comprising pluralities of first and second type communication devices respectively, the method comprising placing a first query by a user on one of the first type devices and forwarding the query via infrastructure based communication to one of the second type devices; forwarding, depending on a category of the first query, the first query from the one second type device to one or more first type devices via infrastructure based communication; and relaying the first query from each of one or more first type devices to one or more neighboring first type devices via infrastructure-less communication.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to memory access, and specifically to memory access utilizing internet protocol (IP) addressing semantics. Various embodiments, methods, apparatus and systems are provided that allow a system to detect that a memory access has been attempted involving a region of memory that is mapped to a network device; and to perform the memory access utilizing, at least in part, the networked device and a network interface. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Abstract: An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) suitable for measuring on-die DC or low frequency analog voltages may include a ring oscillator having a group of circuit cells successively and circularly coupled. Under certain circumstances, the ring oscillator may produce an output frequency that corresponds substantially linear to the input voltage. Other embodiments may be disclosed or claimed.
Abstract: An apparatus and system provide a tamper-resistant scheme for portability of DRM-protected digital content. According to embodiments of the invention, a portable crypto unit may be utilized in conjunction with a VT integrity services (VIS) scheme as well as a Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) and a TPM to provide a secure scheme to protect digital content. Additionally, in one embodiment, the digital content may be partitioned into blocks comprising multiple segments to further enhance the security of the scheme.

Abstract: A motor includes a tubular housing having flat side walls along each side of rectangular joined with each other by joining sections, a magnet, having magnet poles in the jointing section, disposed along the inner peripheral surfaces of the housing, a shaft inserted along the axis of the housing, an armature fixed to the shaft in such a position as to be opposite to the magnet, a commutator mounted on the shaft, a carbon brush in sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the commutator, and electrical components provided within the housing. The electrical components in the longer direction are arranged such that they are not parallel with all the sides of the housing.
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus and methods for adjusting of bit rate transmission in a communication network by monitoring the state of the network, detecting the state of the network and transmitting a multimedia call over the network in accordance with the network state detected. In accordance with the invention the network state is monitored with the bit rate adjusted in accordance with the network state detected. This results in a multimedia call with greatly improved audio quality.
Abstract: A system contains a laser output measurement circuit used in a laser control system (210). The circuits contain a photodiode sensor (109), sample and hold amplifier (202), IC with synchronizer and delay circuits (206), and an analog to digital converter (204). The circuits measure the laser light output (107) while the laser Module (106) transmits signals. The measurement circuit tracks and stores the laser light output (107) signal using a Photodiode Sensor (109) and with a Sample/hold (202). The methods calculate the value of the laser light output (107) from mathematical relationships, which correlate the light output (107) of the laser Module (106) to the current value of the drive signal (100). Some of the distinguishing features in the present invention are 1) feedback information from the photodiode is obtained in a synchronous manner as a snapshot of the laser performance, and 2) the measurements are precise and calibrated, and 3) no disruption of the signal transmission occurs.
