Abstract: The present invention describes a light-sensitive copying material comprising a support and a light-sensitive layer which contains from 0.01 to 10 percent by weight of a non-ionic ester which is obtained by reacting a perfluoro-carboxylic acid with a polyalkylene glycol or of an ether which is obtained by reacting a highly fluorinated or a perfluorinated alkanol with a polyalkylene glycol. By the addition of the fluorinated compound, a more uniform coating is achieved, even when one solvent alone is used for the coating solution.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the distillation of readily polymerizable vinyl aromatic compounds and a new polymerization inhibitor therefor. The process comprises subjecting a vinyl aromatic compound to elevated temperatures in a distillation system in the presence of a new polymerization inhibitor comprising 2,6-dinitro-p-cresol. Also disclosed is a distillation method and apparatus for use with this inhibitor.

Abstract: A solid state relay provides for a discontinuous transfer contact function. The solid state relay includes a first field effect transistor (FET) in a first switch, and second and third FETs in a second switch. The first and second FETs are each connected with AC responsive bias circuits for biasing the respective FETs into a non conductive condition. A control circuit operates the first and second switches to provide a transfer contact function. In a switching transition between a supply of a talking battery via the second switch, to a telephone line, to a supply of a ringing battery line via the first switch to the telephone line, the third FET is operated to increase impedance between the talking battery supply and the second FET, to permit AC voltage from the ringing battery supply to bias the second FET OFF.

Abstract: A silica gel of improved hardness and abrasion resistance, increased adsorption power, and other valuable properties is produced by a highly economic process. A useful manufacturing system for making such silica gel and a simple apparatus for producing silica gel spheres of considerably larger diameter than heretofore known are provided.
