  • Patent number: 8312450
Abstract: Method and system for widgetizing a web-based application are provided. An example system comprises a widgetizer trigger and a definition module. The widgetizer trigger may be configured to receive at a server computer system, from a web browser application running at a client computer system, a request to widgetize a web-based computer application to permit the computer application to be run as a desktop widget at the client computer system. The definition module may be configured to provide to the client computer application, in response to the request to widgetize, a definition file associated with the computer application, the definition file comprising a reference link to the computer application, the reference link including one or more parameters, the one or more parameters to instruct the computer application to generate output in a format suitable for use by a widget engine provided at the client computer system.

  • Patent number: 8161416
Abstract: Various embodiments include apparatus, methods, and systems for column navigation within a view of a table or other source of two-dimensional data. Various embodiments include method comprising displaying a first column of data from a plurality of columns of data included in table and having one or more rows across each of the plurality of columns of data, displaying a second column of data from of the plurality of columns of data directly beside the first column of data so that the one or more rows in the second column of data align with the same one or more rows in the first column and displaying with the second column of data a symbol that when actuated provides an overview menu including a list of selectable columns of data included in the plurality of columns of data included in the table.

  • Patent number: 8054217
Abstract: A detection system and method. The inventive system includes an arrangement for receiving a frame of image data; an arrangement for performing a rate of change of variance calculation with respect to at least one pixel in said frame of image data; and an arrangement for comparing said calculated rate of change of variance with a predetermined threshold to provide output data. In the illustrative embodiment, the frame of image data includes a range/Doppler matrix of N down range samples and M cross range samples. In this embodiment, the arrangement for performing a rate of change of variance calculation includes an arrangement for calculating a rate of change of variance over an N×M window within the range/Doppler matrix. The arrangement for performing a rate of change of variance calculation includes an arrangement for identifying a change in a standard deviation of a small, localized sampling of cells.

  • Patent number: 7930284
Abstract: A method and system to protect users against potentially fraudulent activities associated with spoof web sites are described. According to one aspect of the present invention, the URL of a document downloaded via a web browser client is compared to the URLs in a list of URLs for known spoof sites. If the URL for the downloaded document is found in the list of URLs for known spoof sites, a security indicator is displayed to the user to indicate to the user that the downloaded document is associated with a known spoof site. According to another aspect of the invention, a security server maintains a master black list and periodically communicates updates of the master black list to the local list of a client security application.

  • Patent number: 7515765
Abstract: Methods, media, and a system provide image sharpness management for electronic images. Pixel values for an unmodified image are processed relative to spatial frequency bands for that image. An average pixel value is acquired for each of the spatial frequency bands and used to alter the corresponding pixel value of the image. A resulting modified image exhibits enhancement of sharpness, based on adjustments for each of the spatial frequency bands. In one embodiment, the average pixel value is adjusted based on an expected viewing distance of an observer. In another embodiment, the average pixel value is adjusted based on the ability of a display device to reproduce spatial frequencies in the image.
