Abstract: A field effect transistor is provided which comprises a gate electrode, a source electrode, a drain electrode, at least one organic semiconducting layer, and a hole transport layer for transferring holes from said source and drain electrodes to said organic semiconducting layer, wherein said hole transport layer comprises a layered metal chalcogenide. Processes for depositing a thin layer of a layered metal dichalcogenide on a substrate and for producing top gate structures on a layered metal chalcogenide layer in the manufacture of field effect transistors according to the invention are also provided.

Abstract: The present invention substantially relates to a method for erecting and disassembling an at least two-piece main boom for a lattice-boom crane. The erecting and disassembling procedure results in that the geometric kinematic properties of the main boom (1, 2) are used in such a manner that during the erecting and disassembling, the effective lever arm (1?) of the main boom (1, 2) is reduced. This results from the main boom (1, 2) being bent at the hinge point (A), at which at least two boom portions (1, 2) are connected to each other, and thus an angle position is produced between the two boom portions (1, 2). Further, the invention relates to a main boom (1, 2), which can be erected by the method as well as a lattice-boom crane having such an main boom (1, 2).

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for reducing stroke-related tissue damage by treating a mammal with E-selectin. Preferably, this treatment induces E-selectin tolerance in the mammal. Another aspect of the invention is a method for inducing E-selectin tolerance in a mammal through intranasal administration of E-selectin, preferably including booster administrations. The present methods are especially adapted for use in patients at increased risk of stroke or who may become at increased risk of stroke.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile crane boom having a self-sufficient energy supply arranged on it for supplying hydraulic energy to at least one hydraulic load arranged on the mobile crane boom. The supply of the hydraulic load arranged on the mobile crane boom is therefore not carried out by means of a hydraulic unit arranged on the revolving superstructure of the crane, which provides the hydraulic energy to each hydraulic load via hoses, but by means of a hydraulic unit which is arranged in the upper reaches of the mobile crane boom or in the area of the linkage of any second boom section. By arranging the hydraulic unit directly on the boom, the hoses normally required for supplying the hydraulic loads can be eliminated.

Abstract: This invention generally relates to discontinuous conduction mode switch mode power supply (SMPS) controllers employing primary side sensing. We describe an SMPS controller which integrates a feedback signal from a point determined by a target operating voltage to a peak or trough of an oscillatory or resonant portion of the feedback signal when substantially no energy is being transferred to the SMPS output. When regulation is achieved this value should be zero; the difference from zero can be used to regulate the output voltage of the SMPS.

Abstract: The invention can be summarized as follows. According to the present invention there is provided an attenuated, tumour-targeting bacterium comprising a heterologous nucleotide sequence encoding a protein permitting the accumulation of a radionuclide within the bacterium. The heterologous nucleotide sequence may encode a sodium iodide symporter protein. The invention also relates to the use of such bacteria and methods of treating diseases using the bacteria of the present invention.

Abstract: A method is described for detecting an object with target radar. After the first detection of an object, the antenna is tilted. The original direction towards the object is restored by electronically steering the emitted beam. The beamsteering is obtained by changing the frequency of the emitted signal. Thus, the object may be detected several times on different frequencies. The method is particularly applicable in search and track radars.

When the user completes entering user data in a first revolution of the interactive dialog box, the first revolution is replaced with a second revolution of the evolving interactive dialog box without disturbing or affecting any other part of the host Web page being displayed. Beneficially, the first and second revolutions may be communicated to a user computer together with and at a same time as the host Web page. Also, the second revolution may include a variety of data which is selected or customized to match the user data submitted in the first revolution. Each revolution of the evolving interactive dialog box may be comprised of any combination of general textual data entry fields, category (pull-down) menus, contact information data entry fields, and opt-in/opt-out buttons.

The leveling agent is a linear or branched block copolymer composed of a polysiloxane block and one or more blocks prepared from ethylenically unsaturated monomers by controlled free-radical addition polymerization.
