Abstract: Device having a cover to be positioned on a vessel with an interior wall. A shaft extends through a transverse passageway in the cover. A basket for holding a flavoring substance is mounted to the end of the shaft. The basket can thus be raised and lowered within the vessel through action of the shaft. A continuous lip of flexible polymer surrounds the periphery of the basket, for engagement with the interior wall of the vessel. With flavoring substance in the basket, liquid is poured into the vessel in such a way as to retain air in the space between the basket and the bottom of the vessel. The basket is pushed downwards, causing at least part of the air retained in the space between the basket and the bottom portion of the vessel to displace the flavoring substance while the air rises within the vessel, resulting in improved infusion of the flavoring substance.

Abstract: A friction-drive carriage type conveyor includes a carriage 1 for running in a running direction along a horizontal track including a first track section and a second track section, which crosses a passage 26. Friction drivers 29 and 30 are fitted on both sides of the passage 26 to drive the carriage 1 across it. A main guide rail 14 lies along the whole length of the first track section. A rear auxiliary guide rail 31 lies along the first track section and is upstream of the passage 26. A front auxiliary guide rail 32 lies along the first track section and is downward of the passage 26. The carriage 1 is fitted with a pair of main guided members 4 and 5 for engaging with the main guide rail 14, a pair of front auxiliary guided members 6 and 7 for engaging with the front auxiliary guide rail 32, and a pair of rear auxiliary guided members 8 and 9 for engaging with the rear auxiliary guide rail 31. The main guided members 4 and 5 are spaced from each other in the running direction.

Abstract: A self-extinguishing and relightable candle and a device for incorporation into a candle to make it self-extinguishing and relightable, are disclosed. The candle comprises a consumable candle body having a wick, and at least one of the extinguishing devices mounted upon the wick. The extinguishing device comprises a body having a vertical bore through which the wick extends, the diameter of the bore chosen to closely embrace the wick to deprive the wick of oxygen, and a non-flammable upper surface having a receptacle in connection with an upper end of the bore. After the candle has burned down and is extinguished, the extinguishing device may be removed to expose a new wick portion to allow the candle to be lit. The extinguishing devices may be stacked upon the wick to provide for multiple successive extinguishments and relightings.

Abstract: An engine frame and counter-roller support assembly provides for adjustable positioning of the support with respect to the engine frame, thus allowing differing cable-line spacing to be accommodated. The support includes a pair of carrier elements. The counter-roller is supported on an axle in the bore holes of the carrier elements. The carrier elements are identical and each are in the form of a plate with a headliner and reinforcement ribs. The headliner has a contact surface with a number of two-stage bore-holes which serve for the fastening of the counter-roller support to the engine frame. The bore-holes are arranged such that the counter-roller support can be fastened in different positions, according to the required cable-line spacing between cab cables and counterweight cables.

The back portion is adapted to receive a paintball and the front portion is adapted to detachably connect with a barrel to discharge a paintball through the barrel. The barrel comprising a hollow elongated cylindrical tube, which comprises an interior diameter, a breech end and a connection means at the breech end and adapted for connection with the front portion of the marker and a paintball discharge muzzle end.

Abstract: The invention relates to a novel composition with antimicrobial activity. It is in the food industry a well-known method to use the product L-arginine, Na-lauroyl-ethylester monohydrochloride (LAE). This product is well tolerated and suitable for use in the preservation of all perishable food products. The action of LAE can be further improved by combining the product with a second component selected from the group consisting of potassium sorbate, sodium sorbate and sorbic acid. The weight ratio of LAE to the second component is preferably in the range of 1:50 to 50:1. The combination of the two products leads to a synergistic combined activity against such microorganisms as Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus megaterium, Citrobacter intermedium, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Penicillium camemberti and Cladosporium cladosporioides.

Abstract: A truss assembly apparatus for assembling truss structures, by assembly on two or more consecutive, spaced apart, coplanar work table surfaces and with a gantry type press assembly of a plurality of wooden truss members and truss connector plates with toothed projections, the truss members coupled by embedding the connector plate projections into said truss members. The truss assembly apparatus has a gantry type press assembly with first and second ends adapted to be mounted on first and second ends of each of said work table surfaces, for movement over the work table surfaces and the space between adjacent work table surfaces. The gantry assembly has a continuous belt on the first and second ends for driving of the gantry assembly, by engagement of the continuous driving belt with the first and second table ends. The gantry assembly is configured to be supported by the continuous belt, during movement of the gantry over a work table surface when crossing the space between work table surfaces.

The first portion has a work surface exposed to a user when the case is in the open orientation on which the user can place lens maintenance paraphernalia, and has at least one lens cleaning depression located in the work surface in which a lens can be washed or rinsed. A drawer may be located below the work surface for storage. The second portion contains first and second contact lens storage areas for respectively storing an inventory of right and left contact lenses. A central storage area is located between the contact lens storage areas for storage of ancillary materials, including lens cleaning/rinsing solution, a portable lens case, and or eyeglasses.

Abstract: A construction toy system comprised of a plurality of molded plastic girders and connectors. The girder elements of generally square cross section, with interlocking elements extending axially from each end. The interlocking elements each comprise a flange of square configuration, a groove structure of squared configuration adjacent the flange, and a generally cylindrical rod-like extension projecting between the end of the girder body and the groove structure. Connector elements are formed with one or more sockets for receiving interlocking elements of the girders. The sockets have one open side into which the interlocking elements can be inserted with a lateral snap-in action. The flange portions are freely received in a slot formed in the socket, and the groove structure engages and cooperates with opposed locking ribs formed on the sidewalls of the connector socket. Opposed axial grooves in the socket sidewalls engage opposite side portions of the rod-like extension with a snap-in locking action.

Abstract: An arrangement for clamping raw materials in a machine tool for machining elongated workpieces is provided. The arrangement comprises a supporting plate with at least one thoroughgoing opening and at least one clamping device arranged in front of one of the openings. The clamping device has a pair of clamping rings that drive pairs of jaws. When a pair of clamping devices are utilized, the first clamping device may be used primarily for the clamping of profiles, while the second clamping device is designated for round bodies.

Abstract: A container for holding component parts of a construction toy. The container preferably is a suitcase or briefcase configuration, with a carrying handle at the top. An access cover, comprising a large portion of the front wall of the container and a portion of the bottom wall, is hinged on the bottom wall. When the access cover is open, both the cover and the container lie flat on a floor or other support surface, forming an extra large access opening and allowing easy access to parts within the container. The access cover, when open, forms a tray or receptacle, and can function somewhat like a dust pan, facilitating cleanup after use by enabling loose parts to be scooped onto the open cover and then discharged into the container by upward pivoting movement of the cover.

Abstract: A free ink roller ball pen for dispensing low viscosity inks containing pigments that are prone to sedimentation. The instrument contains an ink reservoir chamber, a nib chamber provided with a roller ball socket assembly, a pressure equalization overflow chamber for the low viscosity ink, and a special agitation system for the ink reservoir and nib chamber. The agitation system comprises a weight, with a cross section smaller than the interior of the nib chamber, connected to a wire having a diameter smaller than the back inner diameter of the ball socket assembly. The length of the weight and its confinement are selected to provide for a predetermined stroke, on shaking the pen, that sweeps out the internal space of the nib and also the back of the roller ball assembly, to re-disperse any pigment that has precipitated.

The plastic barrier panel can be made of clear, transparent material for optimum viewing of the product being displayed. The panels can accommodate the presence of product identifying logos, graphics or other special information associated with a particular product.

A spherically contoured pivot element is received within a pivot housing and retained therein by an adjustable locking ring which clamps the pivot element in any angularly adjusted position. A focusing member is mounted by the pivot element for limited axial adjusting movement in relation thereto. A fiber optic bundle is inserted through the back of the pivot element and the exposed optical fibers at its terminal end are positioned within the focusing member. A lens, carried at the outer end of the focusing member, is movable by the focusing member toward and away from the fiber optic bundle for converging and expanding the area of illumination.
